May need a few months of McKeefery before he gets a lot of carries, but I'm not at practice and I'm wondering too if he's getting a lot of reps. Of all the highlight tapes of our signees, I was most impressed with Borque's.

It stems from the sport of baseball, and it is a slight hesitation during the wind up of a pitcher with runners on base. In the context with Bourque, it probably has something to do with his hesitation in the bag drills. Or.....he could have just misspelled baller.

Got some family issues back home he's dealing with evidently (stated by another poster who says he's a friend of the family). Head may not be in football this season or at least in the beginning of the season.

I will say that he REALLY struggled with that lateral drill on the practice video from a few nights ago. Can't judge too much by that, though, since he probably never did anything similar in HS (at least I hope that's the reason he struggled so much).

Hopefully CJG can get him up to speed on the drills soon.. I really do like what he brings to the table, but honestly I don't see him getting a whole lot of PT over Lane and Rajion.

One thing I've also noticed from his HS highlights is that he ONLY carries the ball in his left hand. I don't think I saw him switch hands once - regardless of where he was on the field. May not be a huge deal, but that's an example of technique he'll have to learn before he becomes a serious contributor.

I thought the same thing when I watch the practice video.
He seems to get aggrivated and loose his concentration then CJG got on to him. Later in though, you can see that it helped him run better.
I believe CJG has improved the Rb's by leaps and bounds this year.
Of course only one way to go when your in the bottom, and thats up!!
GO BIG ORANGE!!!

Que Watson definitely looked light years ahead in the drills, doesn't mean a whole lot though

This historically means he likes the weed...

Should we have been concerned with the way his recruitment went? He seemed a bit confused and disloyal with his commitment approach. I'm not challenging his character, just an outside observation. His recruitment seemed sketchy meaning he seemed a bit flip-floppish.........One day he like this team, the next he liked that team, so on so forth............Has the physicals may not have the rest of it, if you know what I mean. We so desperately need a stud back and I was hoping he was the answer. I know LSU straight up told him he was gonna switch positions.

Unless it is something like a sick family member "back home", I'm sick of us being the only team in America that has the constant issue. Hey coach where is such and such player? Oh, he's back home dealing with back home issues. You know what? Stay the eff home then. Unless someone has died or is sick.

None of that matters now, he is a Vol.

Sure it matters. Does he just have an attitude or a concentration problem? Or a motivation problem? He was stone set a Tiger and when they asked him to play elsewhere on the team, he said nah!!!!! If he's all in and loyal and all Vol, he sure wasn't going to do the same for the Tigers.

Well, if we are going strictly on the bag drills I will take DY. That guy has the quickest feet I have ever seen!

I know I commented on it also, but lets not take 2 minutes of a lateral movement drill during the first or second practice of a young man's college career out of perspective. I understand he maybe dealing with some things but the reality is that it's only going to get harder for this kid and the other newcomers. They were studs in high school and now there at the bottom of the totem pole. Not to mention being away from home and having to take college courses. It's gonna be an adjustment and it's not gonna happen over night. jmo

We may be taking too much out of the drills seen on the video. But, for those who hyped that he is coming in and displacing Lane or Neal are being hit with the reality of being a freshman.

Looks like he runs too high and his footwork is rough. In other words, nothing we didn't already know about him.

He'll be a bit of a project for Graham, but he's got a lot to work with. I don't really expect too much out of him this year. He'll get there, though.

I totally agree. And the good news is we don't have to rely on this kids coming in and starting day one like the past few years. I think our running game will be good this year with Neal, Lane, Smith, and possibly Hill (EE). Q. Watson and Bourque can RS and spend a little time getting use to college life, college football, and working in S&C program.
