Over/under 21 times James Franklin has tried calling Barnett today?

Just so you know, when a recruit's on another campus, you can't call a recruit on another campus. But I love the fact that Franklin had to cheat and still didn't get him.

One more outburst from you, and Monty's gonna put you in a time out.

And Layla's only there because of the money...so there's that

Good point. I know that's one of snakeheads classless tactics... call recruits when they're on visits to UT/other schools. Iirc he actually called to offer one recruit while he was on a visit to UT earlier this year.

I'll take the over btw.

In all honesty, what was Derek Dooley thinking with his recruiting strategy? Honest question.

As bad as DD was, his recruiting was not all that bad really. It did take him a lot longer to secure the class, but in the end it was respectable. It also points to TN being able to recruit itself to some degree IMO. If you look at Dools 2nd class and compare it to CBJs 2nd class, Dools landed (12) 4 star players in a class of 27. We currently have (10) 4 star players in a class of 23. Hard to judge the classes yet in terms of being effective, but the rankings are very similar in terms of "stars". It also speaks to the fact that it is almost a sure thing that by the time other schools fill up, we will be in the 10-18 range like we have been.

#1 recruiting budget in the country, best facilities in the country shouldn't equal a respectable class.

"The Barnett race looks to be down to Tennessee and Vanderbilt and after a visit that we've heard wasn't his favorite last week at Vanderbilt, the Vols have the chance to really make a mark with Barnett. Look for Barnett's mother to again be in Knoxville with him it what we consider a very important visit to make a last impression on Barnett as he is hoping to do something in August."

Boom.

Frankly, if Barnett picks Vandy over us I'm not worried about his absence, lol

Fulmer
5-7
Kiffin (disaster)
7-6
Dooley
6-7
5-7 (lost to Kentucky)
5-7 (curb stomped by Vandy)

Respectable is about all you could expect during those five years

That is what I was saying. We will have a lot of better days ahead I think. I think CBJ and staff can take similar players, and do a lot more with them.

Definitely. But still, we shouldn't be sitting in the high teens, low 20s. CBJ showing exactly that. I will say that CBJ has the fresh start that recruits like to hear.

When the other classes fill we will drop. My guess is to somewhere between 7-11.

+1

Dools 1st class we were #9, his 2nd class we were #13.

CBJ 1st class we were #21, his 2nd class I expect to be around #10-15.

He is just filling it up a lot quicker. The pub for the #1 class(while we have it) is great. It's just not going to hold.
