Unless the freshman redshirt options are out, that pretty much means Peterman if true.

On 104.5 in Nashville this morn. Hyams said he thinks an announcement may come to open up the position.

I have to believe Peterman of Fergurson have better wheels for the read option. In order for this scheme to work there has to be a threat of the QB running the ball.

They said on TN sports radio that there are rumors going around that qb competition is going to be opened back up.

Per Jimmy Hyams this morning. He must know something he said he expects an announcement to be made today.

Indeed, he must know something. Has to know SOMETHING to be able to stay in the Knoxville media. I haven't figured out what it is, but it's gotta be something. Right?

I think Jimmy just reported that we weren't sending a pep band to Oregon.

But is it a good idea to put a new QB in 5 days before playing in the swamp? Not to mention a QB who has never even been to the swamp before? I'm just asking because I truly don't know. I guess it can't be any worse, but just what are some other "realistic" opinions?

This really isn't news. CBJ said at the beginning of spring practice open competition would continue throughout the season at every position, and the player or players who gave us the best opportunity to win each week would play. Translation: There will more than likely be several position changes from the first game to the last, depending on the opponent.

If true that doesn't necessarily mean Worley doesn't start. Sounds like a concession to keep the wolves at bay. Football is a game of competition even within a team. You always start your top performer on any given day. Any coach constantly evaluates player performance.
