This is plain and simple.. between the 13 minute mark until the 8 minute mark, we had every single good Missouri defender and anyone with size and length in big foul trouble and we did absolutely nothing in the paint knowing they can't guard us. Coach Martin is as much at fault as anyone, we did nothing but jack threes and take tough mid range jumpers. There's no excuse for this. Stokes only got one touch in the final 10 minutes. When McRae goes for 31, and the defense has to focus on him with all the foul trouble they were in, our posts should've gotten a touch a least every other possession. You can overanalyze this all you want, but our problem is as simple as this.. coaching. I'm sick of mediocrity, on the floor and the sideline.

Why does Maymon get playing time? It is like playing 4 on 5 when he is on the floor. He is no threat to score and clogs the paint and makes it harder for other players to penetrate. Cuonzo is done. Bruce Pearl is gonna be coaching somewhere next year. I hope it is Knoxville...

You seen it too. Not getting the ball to the big man has cost us several games this season.
We'd rather jack 3s and watch him chase it.
Same as last year.

Dumb play and dumb decisions down the stretch--and HOW do you not get the ball to Stokes in the last 10 minutes of the game? That is Stupid Coaching. Martin seems like a nice guy, but he's not very smart.

Pancratz would join Pearl and Jones and that would not be a stat that pearl would allow. he would have plays drawn up to go to Stokes out of timeouts for sure.

Every coach has some not work well or they counter what you draw up and something crazy has to be improvised. But with Cuonzo I have never been watching when we are down and thought to my self "we've got this." Under Pearl I was surprised when we lost not shocked when we win like now.

Or the one where Tyler Smith got it late inside to help us beat Memphis on their floor and earn a number 1 ranking. For every bad thing you have to say about Bruce, I can come up with something great, so don't even try to act like Bruce wasn't great coach.

You, Bto, sgm, ga vol, hb butch, the guy who likes ohio and z. That's about the only butthurt I see. What a crew. Most people just want to have fun and watch winning basketball, rather than being high and mighty beatches.

I'm not "butthurt" about people wanting him back, I get why people do, and have even said I would support him and Tennessee if he returned.

What I don't get, is 1. The people saying they'll quit supporting Tennessee basketball if Bruce isn't hired. That means you're more of a Pearl fan than a Tennessee fan and 2. Those acting as if he is the only candidate that could win at Tennessee, there's other good options IMO that wouldn't come with the NCAA baggage he would.

They wont quit. But nothing wrong with taking the stance to show you are sick of it. You know winning and exciting ball puts an end to most of that.
They know Pearl will fill the house, be exciting and win. As close to a sure thing as we can count on.

To me there's a lot wrong with saying you'll only support Tennessee if Bruce Pearl is hired, that's borderline pathetic IMO and not being a true fan. I get they want to win, but others can win here, he's not the only one.

And you can also make an argument then that he's as close to a sure thing to make an idiotic mistake and get us in trouble? No.

Point on, and I might add that we never went to our 1-3-1 zone that proved affective against Florida. Even the announcers were questioning why we didn't use it. If this game was much needed as we all felt why not pull ALL the stops to win it? Not going to Stokes as you have pointed out may be the final say in CCM's career at UT.

some of the people taking that stance spent years and 1000's of dollars at UT and have spent $1000's since they left and can say or do whatever the hell they want to, imo, and need not worry about being judged by those that have done neither.
As far as BP messing up, who cares really. You would like to think he is smarter now and won't panic if in a tough situation. Riding on planes is safer after a plane crash, as everything is double checked and extra care taken. Plus, now he can have jrs over now anyway. He is barred from coaching for lying about a silly rule that isn't even a rule anymore. Ridiculous. All of it on all sides.
I'd take 6 more ncaa runs and some fun right now if you told me in 6 years he would have to leave after being in trouble. Who wouldn't?
