I'm not sure how you got that "plenty of schools" are interested in him from that article.

If you don't think he will have MULTIPLE Opportunities to coach you are in denial. SOMEONE is going to benefit from him. I pray it's us but my instinct tells me that we have too many higher ups who let their pride dictate their decision making.

It doesn't matter if he told that lie. You watch Bama, Auburn, and dozens of others lick their chops when he becomes available to coach again. This will make Tennessee look like fools as someone else rakes in the wins and the glory. Bruce is already getting ready to make a comeback how painful will it be if Bama is the school.

Grant has something like 5 years left on his contract and a $5 million buyout. Bama is going to have to pony up some serious money if they get rid of him.

Money is not an issue in Tuscaloosa thanks to Saban. Trust me....if they want him....that won't stand in the way.

Auburn would be a great place for Pearl. They just built a new arena, don't mind spending money and are in a great place to recruit.

So, it is now IF they want him at Bama, yet you were so adamant that MULTIPLE schools want him, and the one example hasn't given a hint of interest, minus an article. Interesting.

i've been through a lot as a vols fan, we all have. if pearl ends up at alabama it will be the most disturbing thing i've deen in my fanhood. worse than pig howards fumble out of the endzone. worse than kiffin leaving in the middle of the night. worse than terrance cody blocking a million daniel lincoln field goals.

Article doesn't have to say it. No way he gets less than ten offers when his penalty is over. He could be coaching now already turned down an offer while he is still serving the penalty. I'll be glad to see him back in coaching and probably want be Tennessee. He is a great coach one mistake shouldn't rob him of the opportunity to return like many others have before him.

Hey here's a tip....READ THE FREAKING COMMENT! I said he WILL have multiple opportunities. That's a FUTURE based statement. I did not say he DOES have multiple opportunities. My 2nd point was that IF Bama wanted to hire him, that money would not be an issue.

Yes that would be horrible seeing him on another SEC teams sideline while we struggle with mediocrity.

I'll be willing to bet he won't be at UGA or Bama next year. No matter how much money Bama has, $5 mil and 5 years left on a contract is a lot of money for a sport they don't care a lot about.

but if bruce loves UT as much as everyone here tells me, why would he ever go to a rival SEC school?

Don't misunderstand my point. I was not saying Bama wants him. My point was IF they wanted him, money wouldn't matter. $5 million in their budget is nothing compared to what they have and what Bruce would bring to the table.

Same way I feel. Buck Fama!

I really like Bruce and will cheer for him to have success at any other school (except for when/if we have to play him) except freaking bama. As much as I like him I just couldn't do it if he was there. Can't do it. Makes me sick just thinking about it.

There isn't even a consensus here among the very pro BBB crowd.

Some are saying he's a Top 10 coach who will have his pick of coaching jobs and will be in high demand. Others are saying other places won't be going after him and we can get him for cheap.

And again, my comment was that his article didn't seem to back up at all his comment, which is still true. I never said anything about what I thought his demand would be.

I think the Pearl lovefest is not completely based in reality. I do not think there will be AD's lined up to hire him when his show-cause runs out. Many of you forget the circumstances that led to him being at UT. He was blackballed by many in the coaching/athletic department community due to his dealings with telling on another school for violations. Add to that his recent black-eye with lying to the NCAA. UT fans love Bruce Pearl, and with just cause, but the rest of the college basketball community has a different view of him. There is certainly some AD that will ignore that baggage and hire him because they want to win. But the insinuation that Pearl will be chased by AD's like 12 year old girls running towards Justin Bieber is not accurate.
