Im not questioning your backyard championship. I’m just saying we don’t coach that. We coach playing eyes and hands to break up the pass or make the tackle.
LB’s played off and can’t be fairly graded on the run as they were just playing safe. Their pass coverage has the same responsibility problems of the last five years. Must fix, or we’ll be eaten up in the middle. DB’s can be vastly improved by Gibson’s return. Everyone needs to quit saying that...
Igor will be fine. We just require the 3 and 4 to be more versatile than most other defenses. He’s a good defender who will play a lot. The jury is out on Dubar, but it’s very early. They recruited him for a reason. I trust they/he will figure it out. I think Cade, Carr and other young guys...
From what I understand, he had a (foot?) injury at the beginning of Summer practice, but has been working back into practice. I’m not sure how the minutes will go, but Cade, Carr and Boswell are on the floor more than I expected.
Agree with BTO. Anyone not from this program has an adjustment period with the physicality, commitment to repeat and replay defensive mistakes and the conditioning. I’m sure it’s been hard for him, but that comment is exaggerated as I’ve heard a lot of excitement around him and no complaints...
Bad take. We had some absurd gaps from injuries and they took advantage. With Pilli in, we win by 14. Can’t judge coaching based on that game. We were still built out of toothpicks and duct tape. I don’t see us having a problem with them this year.
The bottom line is we ARE recruiting better. Have you seen the 2025 class? The turnaround of this program couldn’t be going better/faster. We’re lucky to have the staff we have, and they’re attracting great players.
Key piece of the puzzle with the stream of QB’s we have on the way. Beautifully executed recruitment. You can tell from his announcement that he is the kind of kid we want.
Obviously we’ve become an embarrassment of riches at QB, but Brandon is a truly remarkable quarterback. Having a kid with this kind of physical strength, speed, arm strength and versatility could be the key to open the next door in our growth. He’s Vince Young/Bryce Young ready, and he’s going...
We lost some of the longest tenured and most productive players we’ve ever had. It’ll be hard to follow what they did. I’m very excited about the upcoming season because we have a great staff that develops players and we have a mature point guard who is one of the best in the country. Mashack...
