And he said it like the question pissed him off. So he either really thinks that or he knew that he got smoked on CBs. I couldn't get a good read on it.

I didn't take it like he got smoked. We actually do have some good corners that will thrive under this regime imo. Shamburger will be a star.

Edit: I took it as what does the media know about evaluating cb's ect. I took it as he knows what he's got and what he is doing lol. It was funny to me.

If it were me, I'd just announce it, or let the university announce it, on social media. I wouldn't have an announcement about when I'd have the announcement, or a circus.

The kids get examples set for them, though, like the Heisman show, and the LeBron decision special. Is it any wonder they think that teasing is the way to handle it?

I like the way JJ Peterson handled his recruitment. Guy is a stud but doesn't play games. Tbh Allen is the same way and others in the class. We got some good one's.

There were a lot of guys that were very respectful today that announced where they were going to school and had class when they did it. Others needed more home training Imo.

I keep hearing that it's just kids having fun. All fine and well, but the games, the stupid hat tossing, leading schools on only to flip on signing day, etc....this is why I won't ever come down on any coaching staff that moves on from a recruit no matter how close to signing day it is. When these players learn what the word commitment means and start honoring it, I will change my mind on the matter. Until then....it's only business.

It's weird that I don't see anyone complaining when someone we end up signing trolls another fanbase. That makes them a VFL, right? Anyway, it was a disappointing finish today, but it's only the beginning. The new rules that are in place discourage coaching changes, and we paid the price (doubly so because of our dumbass administration). 2019 needs to be a top 10 class with at least one QB headliner, though, or Pruitt probably isn't going to get to year 4.

Let's see if our staff can coach.

You're right plus they have grown ups that write about them all the time. Guys that have full-time jobs to only write about recruits. I imagine that if you aren't grounded, have a good support structure ect, that it would be easy to get the big head. The way Quay Walker handled his announcement, was interesting. I feel like Pruitt addressed guys like that during his presser when he said that many of the first time visitors already knew where they were going. I would bet anything Walker did.

What Tennessee recruit has trolled a fan base? Serious question. I'm not aware of anyone doing what ITS and Walker did today.

Ftr I think Pruitt is a very likeable smart coach and having an entire year to have guys come visit multiple times along with seeing our immediate success from 4-8 to whatever will get us in the top 10 next year. We are still Tennessee and we have everything a player could want.

Preston Williams, for example, showed up to Auburn wearing all UT gear and was asked to leave. That has happened a few times over the past few years.

Gabe Wright, and not just the fan base, if I remember correctly. I think he assured the coaching staff at UT he was signing, then signed with Auburn on NSD leaving UT without a replacement.

I remember that. What he did wasn't unprofessional. Auburn knew and thought they could do what they usually do but it backfired. He didn't lead anyone on.

Rankings and ratings are subjective. Heck the big sec experts preseason prediction of 13th in basketball doesn't look real smart now. Auburns picked 9th doesn't look to smart either. The sec media days in football is often more wrong than right, and that is on players they have seen for the most part. The same thing happens in recruiting. We won't truly know about this class until 2 years down the road. The rest is total speculation that may or may not be right. GBO!!!!!
