This kids 110m hurdle time correlates with a 10.7 hundred meter time. CP ran a 10.54 in college. Evan Berry ran a 10.54 as the Georgia State champ in highschool.

yep. get him the ball and go. dude can run for sure.

and he goes and gets the ball.

like i said, i don't think he faced a lot of stiff competition in HS going up against the CB's he did...they played off...a lot...but what he did, he did extremely well, and he dominated some of those other guys. which is what a guy like him should do.

i do think this is a steal. not sure how much he'll contribute year 1. but i think we'll know who this kid is before his time is up at UTK.:thumbsup:

Young is bigger and faster. He goes up and takes the ball away from DBs on 50/50 balls. Georgia All-state at WR in 6A (I think), so that's against elite comp. In fact, if UT got 20 players from the Ga All-State team, I would be happy and UT would be in the top 10 in recruiting rankings.

I think the staff will take one more receiver if they can get it. Outside Callaway there isn't anyone who has showed they can be a go to guy especially not knowing if Jennings will make it through or to the season.

Just heard Barton Simmons say the didn’t even know who he was until just very recently. That Callahan alerted the guys at 247 about a couple of players down in Georgia, just outside of Atlanta....and that they should really take a look at this WR.

Said he didn’t attend any camps, that they just started doing their homework on him, looked at his film (no word if they consulted with D4H btw), checked him out to see if he played/excelled at any other sports....saw that he was the Class 6A highhurdles state champ and that he ran 10.6 or so in the 100m. Said he has extraordinary ball skills that you can’t be taught, “you either have the or you don’t”.

So bottom line, they just found out who the kid is and started doing their homework on him and really had no choice but to grade him up as a 4 star the more they dug into him and what he can do.

I posted this in his thread in the FF but I thought it was worth repeating here. I'm a Heritage alum. I've seen this kid play. He is LEGIT! Heritage is not exactly a football powerhouse and rarely do any of their players get much attention from Power 5 schools. That's the only reason I think he went unnoticed.
