’14 GA ATH Elliott Berry (UT Signee 2/5/14)

Can't disagree after learning the counter rules. I hate it for the kid if he doesn't

I am thinking summer. I believe since all 2014 spots would be given, that he could possibly count towards 2015.

While I think we take close to a full class in 2015, you make room to get him a scholorship.

The Berry walk-on debate=last year's Gruden threads

i mean gruden was extremely unlikely but still its just a head coach hire it was possible

do these idiots on this forum actually think that EB is going to pay for school for kids who can get scholarships? amazing how delusional people can be

I don't see it happening either, but I don't think people are idiots or delusional for thinking it's possible. EB doesn't have Michael Jordan money, but both of Jordan's sons could have earned bball scholarships, but walked on instead. There are probably some other examples out there somewhere, but that's just one I know of.

it's not like the berry's don't deserve a scholarship, it's more so that not only does it open up two more spots for kids but also gives a chance to guys who don't have the funds to walk on to UT...do think it's a long shot but can it be a option of course

You guys need to stop the talk about EB paying for his brothers. That's crazy. They deserve the schollies on their own.

Did anyone suggest Archie Manning pay for Peyton or Eli's scholarships?

Just a note, saw on 247 that Chris Spielman(former OSU star LB), his son (a 2 star DE) committed to Toledo.

Wonder if OSU offered a preferred walk on status to him and he said thanks but no thanks?

Being offered a scholarship is a honor and something that you work hard for. Expect no less from the Berrys. They both deserve and will be on scholarships.

Book it!

Put yourself in the Berry Twins shoes.. If they are as high on TN as everyone thinks and you see that TN is down to its 2 final spots , why wouldn't you jump aboard before we have a full class.. Either they are the next to commit or they never wear the jersey their older brother and dad wore..

Also what does CBJ do once we have a full class? Does he put recruiting in low gear knowing we have our max??

Not everyone we have will sign with us on NSD

So you think we should let them walk on and give their schollys to legit walk on's? Because the walk on's might not be able to afford it? That's how I read it, and it sounds insane.

Guys there's a rumor going around that Eric may pay for the Berry's college so they can free up some space in next years class.

Same old song and dance. People wondering if Eric might pay for his brothers education and others calling said persons morons for wondering. I love how VN has a personal relationship with Eric and his brothers.

So how do we know the Berry twins have not discussed their options with CBJ and knowing that there are other spots of need, decided that being walk ons would help him sign more DL or OL? Also and correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think the Berry family comes from money. Now with Eric's current salary, it breaks down to him making about 130k a week.

Now lets say they both stayed 3 years at UT and their education bill was 130k. That's 1 weeks pay for Eric. Now if Eric happens to be a man who is close to his family and loves his brothers, why is it so insane to think he would pay for his brothers education? Especially if Eric were to think him paying would help UT in the long run? I fully believe they have earned their scholarships, but IF they have went with the scenario I laid out, why is that a bad thing?

"We had a whole lot of fun," Berry said. "I don't think there was a game that loud when my brother was playing at Tennessee. It was a fun experience. There is a lot more positive vibe going on. Those players would do anything for Butch Jones."

"It was my first time meeting Jalen Hurd," Berry said. "He was a big dude. All my friends that came up with me were like, 'He plays running back?' I met some other guys like Andrew Butcher."

The question has been asked more than a few times. When will the Berry brothers pull the trigger? They know Vol fans are waiting on their decision, but like anything they do it is well thought out and they aren't in a hurry.

"I can see the light at the end of the tunnel," Berry said. "A lot of people feel like I'm already committed so I'm not sure anything will change."

Ok now I think we are getting a commitment tomm. Austin price tweeted the tease the other day about a TN target seeing the light at end of tunnel and now he release this tonight from that convo. Here it comes I feel it!

They are both awesome athletes, especially Evan. He has ridiculous speed. Knowing the guys they grew up around, you would think they both have a very high football I.Q. They'll be solid players
