I think we all know auburn and pooper trooper have a decent shot at this point. 2012 On field performance will decide this one.
Not even evaluated on Rivals 2014 yet....so not in the top 250 that was released last week.
They SE Recruiting Analyst and Farrell said the jury is out on how good they will be, Farrell indicated possible 3 stars.....thing is they don't have any film.
Only film out there is the one posted of Evan and that was Soph highlights.
Regardless both Berry's will end up being in the Rivals top 250 once video comes out. I mean Evan at Safety - 6'0 195 listed right now - ran a 10.67 in last years 100 m dash at State, barely beaten by Q. Watson our freshman speedster. He also plays QB for Creekside, def won't play it at next level unless he goes to an option school. I believe Elliot is the HB and a Linebacker. Both projected to be defensive players in college....
5 Vol Legacies in 2014, the new coach needs to real them in soon as he gets here. 3 TN Legacy's were in the first release of the Rivals 250 - Todd Kelly Jr. of course, Dillon Bates LBer, and to my surprise CB Vic Wharton. Add in the talent that the Berry's have....and the next coach will have the opportunity right in front of him to reinstall TN football if only in names, and they all are defensive standouts...icing on the cake.
. Yeah be interested to see what they think of new staff. And who is their recruiters. I would send the whole staff down if it were me.Somebody ask Hubbs or Rucker if the new staff has been in contact with the Berry brothers. Coach Thigpen and Coach Martinez should be firmiliar with them from their times at Auburn and UGA.
Thanks.
-VQ"We talked to coach (Willie) Martinez and he came to our school and visited us in December," Evan Berry said Friday after their first practice in Atlanta. "It wasn't my first time meeting him because he was recruiting my brother when he was at UGA so I was kind of familiar with him and it was good seeing him, as well."
A few things they most certainly want to see out of the Vols' new staff is more wins as well as more loyalty in hopes of being around the same staff if they were to end up at Tennessee.
"Most definitely wins and loyal coaches that would at least stay there during my four years and not leave every year or every two years or every three years or something like that," Evan Berry said.
Evan Berry said it's been hard to get to know the coaches at Tennessee over the last several years because of all the changes on the defensive side of the ball.
"You want to get comfortable at a place where you're supposed to get comfortable at but you can't really get comfortable with a new coaching staff coming in every year," Evan Berry added.
I mean, Im not going to lie. I do like Tennessee, Evan Berry said following the second day of practice for Mondays Georgia Junior Bowl, which also will feature his twin brother, Elliot Berry.
But, I mean, I do also have to give every other school a chance, so thats what Im going to do.
Eric Berry, whos now a starting safety for the NFLs Kansas City Chiefs, has offered his younger twin brothers a few tips on how to handle the recruiting process, Evan Berry said, as they prepare to begin the final year leading up to signing day for the 2014 class.
He said, Stay humble, because, like you see now, scholarships can be gone in a second the blink of an eye so dont do anything crazy and stay humble, Evan Berry said, recalling his older brothers advice. And dont go to a school just because of the coach because, like you see, they could leave at any time.
