Don't know what Eric ran as a senior in HS, but that 40 time can be improved a bit in college training. Heck, Joe Haden was a first riounder and has had a good start to his career and ran a 4.57 at the combine.

I stated in another thread that 40 times are overrated a bit. You just need to be a football player, and I will take anyone named Berry.

IIRC Rivals had Eric listed at 4.35, I'm too lazy to look. He ran in the 4.4s at the combine.

I fear VN has built the Berry twins up as being better than they really are.

They seem to be talented players, but more likely in the 3-star range.

Still would be great pickups.

Eric Berry might have been the best Safety to play in the SEC. It's not fair to hold his brothers to the same standard. There aren't many people on this earth with as much god given athletic ability as Eric Berry. That guy was truly elite.

I think Eric could have played several positions and maintained a top 10 pick. That is IF they brought him in at that position from his freshman spring practice and groomed him to play it. I swear I think he could have played both safety positions, CB, RB, or WR. And if he focused on that particular position, nothing else I think he would have been equally good at any of them. I also think he could have played OLB but wouldn't have been drafted as high there due to size. But would have balled out as SEC OLB.

Agreed. They'll be in the 5.7 - 5.8 range, high 3 or low 4 but regardless people will expect them to resemble Eric when they get on the field.

To another poster, I agree that Eric pumping them up so much had a great deal to do with it.

He was a baller.

No doubt, agree with everyone. People were surprised at the 40 time though, and it isn't that bad. Not as good as Eric, but anyone takes them if they are half as good as Eric.

You got to wonder that what if they don't want to go to TN? I mean they would constatntly be compared to Eric, they would always be in his shadow. I can see comments like "Yea they are okay, not as good as Eric though" Also I bet Ole Miss fans thought Peyton was a lock too.... You see what happened there.

yes those comparisons might be there but all would be so appreciative of them to continue the berry legacy here that it prob wouldnt matter so much.

Very good athlete (better than his brother) should start out as a mid 4* and could get bumped with a solid camp showing and senior season. IMO
