Forget the time. He beat an NFL pro bowl safety in a foot race. That's pretty impressive.

This was my point. Kid has size and obviously has speed. Unless he's just soft in the head, there's no reason for the doubting of their ability to be great in the SEC

A great 40 time is not a tell all sign of a good football player, however, in this case it's a good football player with a great 40 time. Any idiot who thinks Evan Berry is not going to be a benefit to this team and University needs to turn in his orange.

Vols. SOON.

Next weekend will be the 'Foundation' event some prospects have talked about the last several weeks and will include a large number of commitments as well as several uncommitted prospects as well. Look for the Berry Brothers, Evan and Elliot, to likely be in attendance.-VolQuest.com.

I don't get why "stargazers" are even freaking out about the Berry's...?!?! Evan is a 247 COMPOSITE 4 star and Elliot is a 3 star. Both have great track speed and great size. And we allllllllll know about the bloodlines. Why WOULDN'T we want them?!?! The talent is there VN.

i think its because there is no defensive film on them, besides a few plays.

In my unexpert opinion, Evan is a definite take. Watch his Hudl film. That kid can play at a high level.

Elliot is the one I'm unsure about, because he plays mostly DE in high school from what I've seen. I don't know what kind of instincts he has as a DB, but physically that's where he fits. He understandably has lethal quickness as a DE (crazy quick off the line), but there's almost no way he can survive there in the SEC. I'm not even sure he'll end up big enough to play at OLB full time. Where do you put him? I could see his athleticism as a weapon on special teams and his quickness off the snap would probably make him hell on a FG/punt-blocking unit, but that's a pretty specific role. I wonder where else CBJ could use him.

And a great pedigree.

I think Evan's highlight tape is more impressive, but both of these kids can definitely help our team in a big way, I think. You can't teach the athleticism they have. It seems Evan has the ability to make something out of nothing and make people miss that our staff has been searching for.

I think our staff can find a way for both of them to be big contributors, though I don't see them having the immediate impact that Eric had (few freshman ever will.)

I don't know why everyone makes a big deal about Elliot's height there have been great linebackers that were short Zach Thomas London fletcher James Harrison Elvis dumerville heck Derrick brooks was barley 6' tall

He was 5 11 3 years ago, I'm sure he's over 6' by now and he's plenty tall enough for lb.

I think we'll more than likely see them at DB somewhere. It'd be interesting to see them on the field together at FS/SS or both starting opp at CB. I think they have the potential to be good solid players. Maybe not a phenom as Eric but good players but who knows maybe they can step up their game and surpass him. I'd be down for that.:pepper:

It's the weight, not the height. All of those guys you listed played at 235+, most of them well north of it. Elliot is ~200 right now and is already pretty well-built. Probably can only add 15-20 pounds without losing some of his quickness. Many TE's will outweigh him by forty pounds.

You're probably right. I'm rooting for them, whichever position they end up playing.

This^

But many OLB's weigh from 215-225 sometimes.
