I’m not overly worried at all. I don’t really care if he plays or not. In fact, if he doesn’t I’d say it’s probably a good thing because we have James, springer, Keon and maybe even Jalen taking most of the minutes.
I think they’re recruiting him and telling him there’s opportunity there, but that’s also got to do with limited scholarships...if James was to leave early then he probably gets minutes at PG, but I think ideally they would like him at the 2 if the roster makeup allows it.I thought Springer was being recruited as a PG? Or at least I thought people were implying that.
He took Hayes spot
Crazy to think it ended up coming to this but we did end up having to turn away a big time talent. I tried to tell BTO that he was certainly taking a spot out of the 2020 class and now we see proof
Lmao, you could just as easily say that the big man is taking Hayes spot.
Looks like we are taking 4 Bruin, may want to re-read our conversation.
Lol
Yea Id love to reread it because you clearly said his spot didn’t effect the 2020 class. It clearly does Now
Would we rather have bailey or Hayes on the roster next season?
I can see that either way
Like I stated at the time, if you wanna say all 13 spots are renewable and so taking anyone costs a spot then sure, but taking bailey isn’t effecting 2020 anymore than taking Plavsic, or Pember, or James, or Gaines etc.Lol

You have to consider roster makeup too, did taking Bailey cost us Ruzhentsev? Or Murrell too? We need frontcourt help, they appear likely to land their Top 3 targets as they’ve hoped to do all along and will now turn their attention towards landing a big.I don't think Hayes comes if Springer comes and also depends on James leaving. Best to look forward to 2021.

Maybe I’m a pessimist but I’d imagine that Hayes looking at Springer Johnson and JJJ in the backcourt is the reason he dropped the Vols, not because Bailey is costing us a roster spot and Barnes said he was out of room
Bailey, as a guard, naturally reduced the number of guards we were taking in the 2020 class. We can't take a class full of guards. We currently have Walker (a point forward) Johnson (a 2/3), and perhaps Springer (a combo guard). Taking another guard, even a true PG as talented as Hayes, isn't good for roster makeup. You have to hope Bailey can develop, and ideally develop into at least a capable backup at the PG position. He seems to have some Lamonte Turner in his game, so that would seem possible with an entire season sitting out to work on it. That puts us at the limit, and we appear willing to oversign by 1 in our pursuit of a quality big man. PJ Hall, perhaps, or Banchero if re-classifies?Maybe I’m a pessimist but I’d imagine that Hayes looking at Springer Johnson and JJJ in the backcourt is the reason he dropped the Vols, not because Bailey is costing us a roster spot and Barnes said he was out of room
