‘Power T’ flag outside the federal courthouse.

I think that's pretty much just the right touch.

A crowd might have been interpreted as a potential threat or warning. A huge banner without any gathering, though, that's just saying, "yes, we care, and we're paying attention, even while we give you your space."

Perfect.

Go Vols!

There are usually two groups of people on something like this. Some, like Jimmy Hyams, desperately want to fly under the radar. They don't like attention being drawn. They don't want to poke the bear. In my opinion, they live life in fear of the "what if".
Others, like some posters here, want to go boldly into the fray. They want to show their convictions with pride. They are unashamed with public displays of where they stand. In my opinion, they live in faith for the "what might be".

With the IRS, I wanna live under the radar. With the NCAA, I want everyone to know Tennessee and her supporters all across the globe will never cower in a fight.

This is not about the University of Tennessee vs the NCAA. It’s the states of Tennessee and Virginia against the NCAA. While the NCAA’s handling of things with UT may have pushed these proceedings, the university is not involved in this specific case. It’s an important distinction people either don’t realize or understand.

I LOVE VOL FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATS to whomever is responsible!!!!

Interesting that Price is covering the hearing. Dont know how much experience he has in courtrooms. Will be interested to see if news reporters that generally cover trials are there from the KNS or other outlets.

This display might be directed toward the NCAA, but as you pointed out, you want to stay under the radar with the IRS. I'd submit the same is true with this judge. That's the bear I don't want to poke. No telling how he'll react or if it will impact his decision at all, but the smart move would have been to steer clear and not put up an attention seeking UT flag right in front of the courthouse. Might move the needle with some of our young fans and on social media, but given what's at stake, I'll stick with this being stupid.

Considering the underlying motivation for staying under the radar and boldly going into the fray, it is not surprising you feel this way about it.

UT is a state funded institution. UT employees are state employees represented by the AG. This is at least indirectly about UT.
