Why does the state have to do it? New car lots aren’t in rural areas but people can find a new car dealership when they want one.
I’m not an advocate brother. Just telling you what’s happening.

The state of TN will pay Doctors to practice in “underserved areas”. Many other states have similar programs.

Here's the thing guys.
There are certain inevitable changes that I once thought were obvious to almost all.
Those changes are not necessarily bad and those changes are not necessarily good, but they are necessarily inevitable.
The wisest course of action would be to accept the inevitable with open arms and work to make it more of a good thing than a bad thing.

You should attend a Rural Area Medical event sometime. Talk to the people who come down from the mountains and in from the holler about why they show up to Jefferson Co High School once a year instead of regularly visiting town for doctor visits. Learn straight from the horse's mouth.

No better way to understand than to imbed.
This type of government intervention probably helped the opiate problem explode.

I have a friend who’s dad was a doctor in upper ET back in the 60s, 70s and 80s. No kidding, he had people come down out of the mountains to receive medical care with absolutely zero money and zero insurance. According to him the conversation went something like this: “Doc, I’m a little short today. Can we work something out?” That was code speak. Later that day when the good doctor left his office, and sometimes maybe it was the next day, there would be a half dozen or so mason jars filled with the good stuff sitting in the back floorboard of his car.

And everyone was happy(ish)

You think that has relevance?
Like I said, I once thought it to be obvious to almost all.
I'll give you hint....you're looking in the wrong direction.

I thought we were talking about mountain folks/Jeffco

The county has donated weekend use of the school campus to RAM / Doctors Without Borders as their temporary work site in the past. It has also been at the Chilhowee Park Fairgrounds.

That's a kind of payment I can get behind.

Having read the formational documentation for this group, I now agree with @Rasputin_Vol that there's no need for a multifaceted discussion. I believe anyone who reads the word salad of a document available on their website will come to the conclusion that their aim is not improving access and treatment for BiPOC but seeing how many buzzword boxes they can tick in the process.

Their plan is not for a social democratic solution that is compatible with capitalism and American principles but a completely classical socialist system that has been proven time and time again to fail.

My man’s preachin.

Excellent. Another example of American philanthropy without government intervention

During the George Floyd BS, we had 15 physician students go out during a large meeting and “take a knee with fists raised” outside our main lobby at the hospital (mostly lefty white of course). They thought they were so heroic until they were told the next time they interrupt a medical leadership meeting with political activism on the clock again they would be fired and stripped of their license. Guess what? No more faux politics and made up BS

How does one make the government taking more of your property and giving it to clowns like you into a good thing?

The hospital has no power to strip anyone of their license
