I posted some of this before... but we need to have some good shiet even it is repeated news.
My first trip into the North Maine Woods, many moons ago. After settling in at the camp I took the boat out and ran two fishing lines out. And trolled for a bit, and then bang, I got a strike, and I immediately ripped the rod from the holder and set the hook hard. Just like lake trout fishing I grew up with on Lake Superior. Lost it, and for the rest of the morning I lost 8 of 10 strikes. Went to shore for lunch, and the camp guide asked me how it went. I said 10 on and 2 in the boat... he laughed at me. And said good luck the rest of the day. Well for me that was the same sheit. So, the next day he took me aside and asked where I learned to fish. My reply was lakers on Superior. He said he could tell as much... and said son, these are land locked salmon, very soft lips. You ripped the hook out of all those fish. There is a special way to catch them. So, I hired him for the day, and he taught me how to catch salmon. It was amazing, I would boat every fish that I had a hit on. Some secret stuff in his lessons... I will share with you someday. Can't tell Joe though. And no its not dynamite lures either.
