⚽️Lady Vols Soccer Thread

No telling who else was missing the way ole joe runs the show. I have gave him the benefit of the doubt but i really see no reason for his handling of the ladies this year.
I will admit I know nothing but feel a Runyon transfer coming. Joe can recruit at a certain level but he has real trouble retaining the talent once it gets here. This team is not going anywhere because they have no offensive firepower and if they did they have a coach that can't manage it or teach it. He is decent on the defensive side but that will not get it done. The girls play hard but have no clue once they past the midfield.

Alcorn State AD addresses soccer program situation

Alcorn State AD says," Not to worry. We're going to be in a great place," regarding the soccer program after alleged violations

LORMAN, Miss. —
Alcorn State has been hit with alleged Title 9 violations from current and former players of their women's soccer program, according to Sam Sklar, with the Clarion Ledger.

The newspaper reported that the university was sent a letter signed by 15 former and current soccer players. The players accused the university of having no running hot water in the facilities, bats and snakes in the showers and locker room and failing to keep promises about new equipment needed for the players.

The season has been canceled after allegations of unsuitable conditions in team facilities and not having enough players to field a team for the rest of the year. The Southwestern Athletic Conference has sanctioned the program and fined the school, but the amount has not been made public.

Alcorn State's new Athletic Director E. D'Wayne Robinson said they are addressing the situation and investment in the program. Robinson said changes are coming.

Game Recap: Soccer | October 24, 2024
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - In its final home SEC regular season match, Tennessee tied South Carolina, 1-1.

Mac Midgley helped secured the point at home for the Lady Vols after successfully converting on a penalty kick late in the match, marking her third goal of the season.

UT (7-4-4, 2-3-3) dominated in the possession game, keeping the ball 65 percent of the match. Additionally, the Big Orange posted 19 total shots (11 on frame) to South Carolina's seven while also earning 16 corner kicks.

Ally Brown and Midgley, who have been mainstays for Tennessee, each created three chances as Reese Mattern put up two shots on target.
Redshirt junior goalkeeper Ally Zazzara once again showed poise in goal with three saves.

The Lady Vols offense rolled out early with six shots on goal by Sammi Woods, Midgely, Brown, Nyla Blue, Mattern and Luciana Latino to begin the first frame.

Tennessee tested the South Carolina defense with six corner kicks, four of which in a seven minute span.

Catherine Barry opened up scoring for the Gamecocks with a goal in the 30th minute after two previous saves for Zazzara.

Brown then tried to create an opportunity for the Lady Vols late in the first half but was unable to convert.

After entering the break down one, Mattern, Woods, and Midgely continued to create some movement but shots were saved by South Carolina's Christinia Tsaousis who finished the night with seven saves.

In its seventh corner kick of the second half, Latino put yet another shot on goal for the Lady Vols but was unable to break through.

With three minutes remaining in the match, Midgley was set to take her first penalty kick attempt of the season after Sammi Woods was fouled in the box. Midgley then secured the equalizer after booting it in the left side of the net.

The Gamecocks then created their final chance of the night following a free kick, but Zazzara came up big in the 90th minute, earning her third and final save of the night.

Well i was only asking the question because of injuries ! And would not surprise me if she does transfer!
It’s possible. I mean if she isn’t happy or feels she’d rather go somewhere else, the climate in college sports makes it easier now than ever. I haven’t felt that to be the case or seen any signs of dissatisfaction but you might be right.

2:00 PM - (21) Kentucky vs Tennessee

Kentucky knows they're in the SEC Tournament but out of the bye race and are probably just playing for an NCAA seed. Tennessee is on the bubble in all respects but could lock up an SEC Tournament spot with a win.
