"I'm still committed to Tennessee," Shackelford said. "I'm looking around, but I'm still committed. I'm pretty interested in Auburn, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. I may even take a 4th visit but I don't know where yet."

Shackelford says that he knows that Lane Kiffin will bring in good coaches. He maintains that he is still feeling, "strong" for Tennessee.

the only change is that there is so much more scrutiny now. with rivals and scout, etc, these kids every thoughts are made public and dissected to no end.

Yes, it is most certainly different in this department. Rivals has turned into a monster.

"It was the coaching changes and me just wanting to take more visits just to make sure I'm making the right decision," Schackelford said.

"I'm just re-evaluating myself to see where I wanted to go," Schackelford said. "That's not a knock on Tennessee at all. I'm still committed to Tennessee. It's a great place. You can't knock any SEC program because they're all great schools."

"I've been invited to come up on an official visit and I'm more than likely going to take the visit to LSU," Schackelford said. "I've got a great deal of interest in them. LSU's a great program. I just haven't gotten a chance to come on campus."

"I really liked coach Chavis at Tennessee," Schackelford said. "He's one of the main reasons I committed to Tennessee. It's a great program and a great school but coach Chavis is one of the people I really based my decision on."

“I’m still going to take my visits and make sure that I make the right decision,” Shackelford said of his commitment to the Vols. “It’s where I’ve got to be for the next four years of my life. So I’ve got to make sure I make the right decision.

“I’m committed to Tennessee, but like I said, I’m looking around,” he adds.

Shackelford, who has been committed to Tennessee since late summer, expects to make a final decision after official visits to Ole Miss and Tennessee later this month.

Per Scout

Took his visit to Auburn but it didn't sound like it was enough to sway him.

"I had a real good weekend. I liked it down there a lot," said Shackelford, a Tennessee commitment. "Being around the players, them showing me around campus and stuff…I just liked the whole experience.

"We got down there Friday and ate dinner and then went on a tour, met with the academic people, the coaches, the Tigerettes…it was all just a great experience."

When asked to rate the visit on a scale of 1-10, Shackelford said, "I couldn't even give it a number. I just really, really enjoyed myself."

"I'm still committed to Tennessee, but I'm going to make my final decision after all my visits," he said.

I really can't understand why anyone would want to play for Chavis. The guy is arrogant as all get out.

Its all about the $$$. He saw Mayo go #10 overall and many other NFL linebackers drafted. Thats the only reason I can see anyone wants to play for Chavis

I just found out that this kid had a 4th star now. Dang we need to keep him now. If he was a 3 star he could leave for all I care, but we can't let 4 stars leave.

I hope we keep this kid. He apparently has a motor that doesn't stop and those type of guys always seem to do well on D.
