'09 TN DL Daniel Hood (merged)

In the interview, he mentioned that the other guy was actually dating his cousin. Also, the other guy said in court that Daniel had nothing to do with the incident and that he was the only one responsible.

It's funny how we pretend we know everything about the incident, when we actually don't know jack.

Go online and read the court documents it will make you think about what is going on at UT. i support Kiffin a 100%, but this just isn't good!!!!

It's a really bad assumption to take any court docs at face value.

I know that most of this thred is talking about the things he did in the past but can anyone give any info about his abilities to play?

What comes out in court is not always in the true light that it really happened.Or O.J. would not be free today.

Hood didn't duck a single question in that interview and that was not a soft or fluff interview. He handled himself well with humility and sorrow for his cousin. I was really not liking this signing until listening to the interview. My view has changed.

You're a little late to the conversation.

To Whom it May Concern,

I Tiffany XXXX, support Daniel Hood’s choice of college and will support him in anyway that I can. I know my cousin Daniel on a personal level and I believe that he has been very remorseful towards me. He is a very caring individual. We are now working on rebuilding our relationship hoping to become a family like before. He is becoming a very mature adult and will be a great asset to any college and to society as a whole. If anyone has any concerns about our relationship or Daniel’s remorse about the situation feel free to contact me.

I think this is horrible, i have a niece going up there in the fall and i don't trust this freak with her. he is gonna have a hard enough time with all the college players making fun of him for being a freak. the kid is psyco. when your thirteen you don't think of that stuff, he needs help and by god, the vols ain't the one to help him he needs god.

Have you read the other fourty million pages in this thread. If you haven't please. I don't feel like typing a legit argument against someone with your same opinion for the fourhundreth time. If anything this will turn out to be a good PR move in the long run because this is a good kid. He made a bad choice. read the rest of the thread for the rest of my argument.

put yourself in his shoes and think back to when your were 13. What would you have done? Knowing that the guy is 4yrs older than you, is a known gang member who typically carries a gun on him. i bet half the big talkers bashing hood wouldn't have the balls to man up to the 17 yr old guy. We all know what we would do now that we are older but what would you do at age 13?

I hate to be the one to break this to ya....but this kid sounds like you outta trust him 1000 times more so than the other 10,000 18-23 year old guys that will be living near your niece.....just something to think about.

Pretty sure it wasn't his ideas. He wasn't the one thinking of those things. Was just following suit - not a good idea obviously - but you act like he was the mastermind and has all these warped views.

I am personally very happy for this young man. I live in Kingsport and I know alot of people who likes this young man. A friend of mines mother taught Daniel in middle school and she thinks of him as a very cordial student who slipped up one night. She was shocked when the news came out. My nephews went to school with Daniel and thought he was a nice guy. My brother knows his dad pretty well and supported him when he ran for sheriff. I think he deserves a second chance and I give Kiffin credit for given it to him. I hope he becomes an all american.

Wait so her letter says they are just now trying to fix things and be a family again?

Why this long after and all of a sudden when he needs her?

I smell something.

So who was she supposed to write a letter to before? The media? Newspaper? Had no reason to.

And I'm sure they've been working on repairing the relationship and the family - it's a long process and will probably take like than 5-6 years to heal. Will never heal completely.

Great points!

I'm glad we signed Hood. I feel he is going to be an asset to the University on and off the field.
