I didn't catch any Bias in that game. Not even once. They gloated over UT just as much as Clemson. If you have a mind set that everyone is against UT, you're always going to find something, even though it's nothing.

I'd rather listen to the ESPN guys than Bob anymore. Bob acts bored and comes off like he'd rather be somewhere else

Anyone remember the Sugar Vol broadcast??
I was there, after I sobered up enough to watch a replay was amazed at the announcer's bias.
To this day I have never seen a team so disrespected.

1986? Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles. The 1999 Fiesta Bowl was even worse. Towards the end of the game it was all about Keith Jackson doing his last game before retiring. Never mind it was the first BCS championship and TN’s first NC in 47 years. Then he did a 180 and didn’t retire.

I am watching the replay of last year's Orange Bowl game. I am still amazed at how much the announcers were so pro Clemson. It is comical how the game turned out and how they had to eat crow by the end of the game.
They did the same thing in the regional this year.
I love the Vol Network. I will overlook Bob’s mistakes because, IMO, Pat Ryan calls it as he sees it. Despite all of the errors, it’s still worlds ahead of TV announcers who either played for an SEC rival and can’t stay objective or a nobody who tries too hard.

The bowl game replays should remind us we are still unproven in that defensive secondary, Clemson made plenty of mistakes that game, but the Tennessee secondary was pretty loose and exploitable that game and most of the 2022 season, lot of pass interference calls that game

I watched the game on TV and disagree with you on the commentary. The announcers were objective and gave at least as much credence to UT as they did Clemson.

It almost pathetic how some of our fans play the victim from every media outlet, even when we're being touted for our success.

Greg McElroy was so much worse listening to him the second time watching the Orange Bowl.

SEC Network should demote him to 3rd or 4th string.

Just another bad 'Bama QB letting his contempt for UT show through.

I didn’t think it as much the actual bias as it was the way the camera shots were set up to highlight their quarterback and his family. This was a production decision made before the game began. The longer the game went, the more foolish they looked. You may have noticed that the polls show Clem ranked ahead of UT this year as well. Just remember, living well is the best revenge.

Was never going to retire after a Vols NC. USC or BAMA tho...

I watched the game also two to three times and can tell you they were all over Kade Clubniks n uts. They panned to his parents numerous times. The only reason I can remember his name is because it was seared into my mind by the excessive use of it.
Yeah I haven't watched the replay but it felt like Klubnik was mentioned about 4 times as much as Milton despite getting destroyed and they flashed to his parents in the stands what felt like every 4 plays

Did you happen to notice Clemson's freshman quarterback? Clublick or Kubenik or something. Maybe the announcers mentioned him?

LOL! It wasclear they were expecting him to have a breakout game - all their broadcast notes assumed he was going to pass for 400 yards, 5 TDs, etc. They kept up the hype into the 4th quarter. He might have been capable of exploiting our secondary but our from 7 ate him alive. I really enjoyed watching our defensive front just manhandle a quality opponent.

I’m willing to bet that was part of our game plan . Don’t get beat over the top and take the penalties. Hopefully force field goals. It worked.

But John Ward being a man of his word did retire and was his last game calling the play by play for the Big Orange. A bitter sweet night in Vol history.

I watched that game with my little brother and my Momma. Daddy was out of town deer hunting. The amount of screaming and cheering we did will always be a great memory. I was 12. Even that long ago, I’ll never forget the bias…the flat out disrespect. That was a sweet Victory. I still watch that game about once a month. My Fiancé has started to threaten me if I say I’m turning it on again! 😂😂😂

What, you weren't enthralled by three hours of constant cutaways to Cade Klubnik's parents sitting in the stands with that "oh dear, son" look on their faces?

Those two guys had no doubt Miami was going to win that game convincingly And be named National Champions. It was obvious what they wanted to happen versus the reality of that night.

With all the analytics in sports, I wish there was some way to measure how announcers do a game with not only what they say, but the pitch, intensity, and passion for which it’s delivered—a true analysis to find bias.
