I ceased being a Keith Jackson fan after a watched the replay of that game. Those two guys had no doubt Miami was going to win that game convincingly And be named National Champions. It was obvious what they wanted to happen versus the reality of that night.
With all the analytics in sports, I wish there was some way to measure how announcers do a game with not only what they say, but the pitch, intensity, and passion for which it’s delivered—a true analysis to find bias.
I am watching the replay of last year's Orange Bowl game. I am still amazed at how much the announcers were so pro Clemson. It is comical how the game turned out and how they had to eat crow by the end of the game.
Everyone knows it is “Clempson”. Just ask one of their fans.Pretty sure you used a zero instead of an "O" in "Orange" for your title, OP.
That's curious indeed.
Also: "Clempson".

Yeah I’d agree. While I simply don’t listen to much commentating either on game day or throughout the week I’ve always found Greg to be very fair to UT. Sometimes those ex players will go way to the other side to keep from being called a “homer” and personally I think Greg might be one.Honestly I don't think he is that bad. My take is he has been pretty fair with UT.
I watched the game on TV and disagree with you on the commentary. The announcers were objective and gave at least as much credence to UT as they did Clemson.
It almost pathetic how some of our fans play the victim from every media outlet, even when we're being touted for our success.
I've watched it twice. You do realize most of that "lovefest" was scripted, right? No, it didn't bother me because I know they weren't slighting UT. I'm not as hypersensitive as some of our fans.Maybe it was balanced, overall. I thought it was generally pretty balanced. But there is no way you took that Clubnic Lovefest as normal. No way ... or either you didn't really watch it.
EXACTLY... and if you were paying attention, it wasn't even his last game. He came out of retirement and did (I think) more than one game later on. So we had to suffer through that, for no reason. Also, that was John Ward's last game.1986? Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles. The 1999 Fiesta Bowl was even worse. Towards the end of the game it was all about Keith Jackson doing his last game before retiring. Never mind it was the first BCS championship and TN’s first NC in 47 years. Then he did a 180 and didn’t retire.
I have watched it twice this year. Every Miami possession of the second half began the same way.Anyone remember the Sugar Vol broadcast??
I was there, after I sobered up enough to watch a replay was amazed at the announcer's bias.
To this day I have never seen a team so disrespected.
The pace that Tennessee plays at under Heupel really puts into focus how bad Bob is about not giving distance to make for a 1st down ... He will give you the down, but you pretty much have to keep up with yards-to-go yourself ... or he'll just say 3rd and short .... but "short" is anything less than 5 yards.I didn't catch any Bias in that game. Not even once. They gloated over UT just as much as Clemson. If you have a mind set that everyone is against UT, you're always going to find something, even though it's nothing.
I'd rather listen to the ESPN guys than Bob anymore. Bob acts bored and comes off like he'd rather be somewhere else
I have watched it twice this year. Every Miami possession of the second half began the same way.
"The Miami comeback we all know with certainty is coming, is about to begin."
and eventually it changed to, "It is getting late in the game for Miami's comeback to begin."
Haven't watched the replay yet but what I do remember is our front 7 absolutely getting after Clemson. You can have all the open WR's u want but it doesn't mean a thing if your QB is getting abused. I almost felt sorry for the kid. He is probably still seeing Beasley in his sleep. That guy was out there dropping the sledgehammer. The bowl game replays should remind us we are still unproven in that defensive secondary, Clemson made plenty of mistakes that game, but the Tennessee secondary was pretty loose and exploitable that game and most of the 2022 season, lot of pass interference calls that game
