1/5 of Gen Z (1997-2004) identify as LGBT.

The community has often argued that suicide was a major cause to their poorer results. That is gonna lose traction now, as homosexuality is very accepted now.
While absolutely true, it's still not an easy thing to accept when 90+ percent of society is different. Add in faith, family dynamics, and bullying and its understandable why suicide attempts remain higher than peer groups.

The societal tide on acceptance of homosexuality has done a 180. While I am sure there are issues they have to deal with, the depression levels and this suicide rates should see a drastic improvement.

Do you know how much money these hospitals make chopping up children? It is huge profit, a ton more money than providing folks with mental heath treatment. The only thing legitimate about this sick thing is the money the hospitals put in the bank.
See the Doctors from the “Vanderbilt Pediatric Transgender Clinic”?

They went on and on about how much money top and bottom surgeries for minors bring in.

One more point on societal acceptance. In the last year or so we've seen a bit of a shift primarily due to the trans topic. In some places, like here in Florida, we're seeing more pushback. Might be a hiccup, might be something more.

So I have been wondering what your thoughts are but was not going to ask. But now I will.

Do you have any thoughts on the trans topic?

My views have changed significantly in the past year or so due to that.

No. A mentally ill person can still have the ability to reason. I could be depressed and still function in my job, marriage, friendships, etc.

Your ability to reason is inherently disrupted by mental illness. It's what makes it an illness.

You are discussing function. That is different.

Mental illness can involve thinking, emotion, and/or behavior. 1 or any combo of those.

I am assuming you have never met gCB yet claim he is one of the most reasonable posters on here. It is completely conceivable that he could suffer from depression, you could never know it, and he still establish himself as one of the most reasonable posters on here in your eyes

Really interesting. Got a link?
One of the most fascinating is the Beluga. When females reach sexual maturity, some stay with their birth pod, some move on to other pods.

There is no biological difference, or observed behavioral differences in the females. Some simply choose to leave - and we have no idea why. I’ll try and find something on the phenomenon.

Orca are arguably the most impressive. Incredibly complex social structures, distinct language unique to their pods, learned behaviors that are passed down thru the maternal line. They have distinct cultures.

I'm not so sure why you are trying so hard to validate Csouth calling him mentally ill.

It would depend on the mental illness, no? It's very possible for someone to be rational and highly functional in most respects while having a mental illness.
This is not to imply in any way that another poster here is mentally ill.

I think this number is low. My Gen Z daughter hasn't had a single friend in HS or college that identified as straight. Not a one. They were often bi, pan or fluid

Is there a right wing equivalent to the way the left treats speakers they perceive as right wing? The number of times I’ve seen people openly attacked, fire alarms pulled, air horns used, etc to stop people on the right from expressing their opinions is insane

What is the average lifespan of a homosexual male versus a heterosexual male human?
Only somewhat related, but it’s interesting hearing trans people scream that they are somehow victims of a “genocide.”

Even the modern FBI that spies on traditional Catholics and parents critical of the public education system (but refuses to call a trans shooter blasting Christians a hate crime) says only TWO trans people were the victims of hate crime deaths in the past year.

The only people genociding the trans people are themselves.
