I was surprised too. I’ve seen so many different things called and not called I’m not even sure I understand the rule.

He led with his shoulder but there was helmet contact. It’s inevitable that will happen especially when a ball carrier drops down. Has to be fixed. I get the defenseless receiver thing but a ball carrier in every other situation should be fair game.

No one should be ejected unless it is blatantly obvious they tried to hurt the other player. If it is iffy give the 15 yard penalty and let the dude keep playing.
