Maybe a rule where, if the refs miss an infraction like PI or holding, the opposing team can challenge it at the risk of losing a timeout.
Certainly not a bad idea, but I think that would need a much more thorough rule rewriting, as some level of holding on the line or contact outside happens every play. I think holding should be a 5 yard penalty so officials can call it EVERYTIME

UT should be making a big deal about the fact that Florida had 1 live ball penalty called against them vs UT, Alabama had 0 and KY had zero. That is an impossibility.
Curious if you happened to count how many live action penalties we had in our last three home games. Not a direct comparison but it may speak to whether there is a home-team bias in officiating. We had 5 (UTSA), 7 (USC), and 12 (A&M) penalties, but I don’t know how many were live action. I assume it is > 1 in that span.

No worries. The numbers will even themselves up after this weekend. UConn will be get hit right and left with laundry on Saturday.

So went back and looked at all games this year.
Virginia 0 live fouls
Austin Peay 2 live fouls - Chop blocks
Florida 1 live foul - Offensive Holding
UTSA 1 live foul - Offensive Holding
South Carolina 2 live fouls - Offensive Holding
Texas A&M 6 live fouls - 1 Roughing the passer, 1 Illegal block, 1 Intentional grounding, 1 Offensive holding, and 2 Defensive pass interference. Of course we had 12 penalties to their 11.
Alabama 0 live fouls
Kentucky 0 live fouls
