#1 Syracuse vs #5 Duke (ESPN, 7PM)

Silly man...Duke will be the unanimous #1 next week.

I know we're just farting around, but honestly, wait for it: I guarantee you Duke will either remain at 5 or only fall a spot or two. Or, they may jump 6 spots like the last time they played Cuse. In that case, they'll be the first team to ever claim the -1 ranking.

Earlier in the year Martin mentioned he had been unsuccessful in his attempts to get a technical...he needs to study Boeheim's moves here...

It was a thing of beauty. I for one enjoyed watching it, and I hate Boeheim. But I'll give credit where it's due.

It certainly was, wasn't it....I can't imagine someone who has coached as long as he has and as savvy as he is losing control so I think it was calculated....if so he has a future in the theater...

His feet were moving as the offensive player jumped. He has to have both feet flat on the ground before the offensive player jumps. It was a horrible call.

show me the rule. By my understanding, the player has to be in position when the player goes up and his feet must be set when contact is made.

By that understanding of the rule, the play was called correctly.

His feet must be SET BEFORE the offensive player begins his upward motion not when contact is made. His feet were clearly shuffling as the offensive player was jumping.

The NCAA defines the rule as: "Under the revised block/charge call in men's basketball, a defensive player is not permitted to move into the path of an offensive player once he has started his upward motion with the ball to attempt a field goal or pass. If the defensive player is not in legal guarding position by this time, it is a blocking foul."

Not so fast. If Cuse gets the Duke poll treatment they may be able to move up 6 spots in the poll. I mean they played a close game with a really good team in historic Cameron Indoor High School Gym.

UNC fans' obsession with Duke is very amusing to me.

It all spurs from K's hair. We just can't figure out how a man in his late sixties still has jet black hair. Most be good genetics.

Seriously, though, just be grateful we're not as obsessed with you as NC State fans are with us. They're still trying to get to the bottom of the Hairston situation.

Wish they'd just expand the restricted area out to about 5-6 feet and take charges near the rim out of the equation.

Longer last names lead to longer hair coloration. Fact.

I completely agree with you, though. Have you seen this?

Nowhere in your rule does it say ANYTHING about feet being set. They must only be in guarding position.
