UT has offered, but I couldn't find a thread on this guy...

"Alabama is in my top group of schools. It is going to be hard to separate the top group, but right now it is Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Southern Mississippi and Tennessee. I am going to try and wait as close to possible until signing day, but if it gets too crazy I may decide sooner than that."

He has said he wants to wait out the process and visit all the schools on his list so Tennessee has a shot. That said he appears to be a UF lean (likes their spread a lot) with UA a close second. Who knows what could happen with Kiffen's staff though he has stated he is trying to keep everything open.

No team might be able to beat out Florida, though. Patton said the Gators are "real high" on his list and that he and his parents have planned a trip to Gainesville in June to meet with the coaches. He has been to campus and loved it and now it's time for his family to see the place.

Even though there is high interest in the Gators, Patton said Alabama is also making a strong impression on him. He's an in-state kid who is being heavily recruited by the Crimson Tide which usually means that recruit ends up in Tuscaloosa.

Per Rivals... Bama-Gator battle...

Hopefully he will be all Tide which would make things a little easier for Ambles to not go to Bama...

Interesting sitiuation.

When in doubt, always expect the bama kid to go to bama, especially if Saban wants him.

That said, UF would love to have him and he's one of the speedy athletes who isn't very tall and would fit great in the spread.

I'm wondering when the whole wide receiver logjam is going to start unwinding. There is a very deep class and it seems like they are all waiting for someone else to make the first move. The first really big name went last week with Hunter to LSU. Maybe that will kick things off.

Bama fans say they're taking 2 to 3 WRs this class.

Keiwon Malone and Blake Sims are locks if they stay commited
Carswell is also committed, but they say he could be kicked out for someone better or of a different position of need be.

Scout update that involves the vols....

It made him realize just what kind of opportunity he has next year when he gets to Gainesville.

“It says a lot, I tell a lot of people that I am excited and ready to get down there knowing that I am going to be able to play at a school like Florida,” Patton said regarding the early playing time available for skilled receivers. “That is a school that just won a championship last year. I will get an opportunity to come around and be with some real good coaches that know what they're doing about getting you to the next level and make you a better person overall. I am just excited, it is crazy and I can talk about Florida all day.”

Patton talked to Florida receiver coach Billy Gonzales about the game.

“He told me last week that he wished I was there and that I would have actually played against Tennessee if I was down there,” Patton said of Gonzales.

Patton also talked to another staff this week following the game.

“It was crazy because I was at work and a number called me from out of town and I answered,” he started. “You wouldn't believe who it was?”

Ummmmmm was it Lane Kiffin, I asked? “Yeah,” Patton said with a big laugh of disbelief.

“He called me and and Lance Thompson called and they just passed the phone around. I was trying to explain to them I was at work. They were telling me all this mess that they want me to come check it out and they will keep it on the down low and not tell anyone. I just told them that I am already committed to Florida and am sold on Florida and that is where I really want to go.”

“I said would come check them out if I wasn't committed, but I am committed. All my feelings are towards Florida, I don't have any thoughts with any other school.

“As soon as I got off the phone I called Coach G,” Patton said. “(Gonzales) said, 'Next time just tell them I am fully committed to Florida and that's where I want to play.' Coach Meyer told me, 'Next time Kiffin calls, tell him I said hello'.”

Wow. What a bunch of horsecrap that was. The Florida staff just continues to lie to players.

Well seeing that UF only played 4 WR's...I think it would have been a good possibility that he played

Do you know how many true freshman wide receivers have played for Florida this year? 0. None. Zilch. They've got 7 guys that would have been higher on the depth chart than Patton. It's a bullcrap lie.

Thats because UF only signed one WR this past class and he is done for the year with an injury.

They signed two. And like I said, they have 7 WRs and they only play about 4 of them. Dude would never have seen the field. He'd be in the same position Debose is, standing on the sidelines in street clothes. Debose was encouraged to get the surgery and take a redshirt. He could have played without it after a week or two.

Hmm...Which team is recruiting whose commits? Looks like UT is the team chasing after UF recruits and not the other way around. I guess that makes UT ahead
