Miami has a 8-9 man rotation on the DL. B.Willis knows this and saw it first hand on his visit. Now Powell wants to go take a look? U GOTTA BE KIDDIN ME?

Not sure if he's going to take all his visit but Newberg report he was going to announce his commit today but postponed it.....he's supposed to take OV on 1/15 so guess he's waiting to talk to Meyer in person.

With the Myer situation, I think this kid ends up signing with the Trojans when it is all said and done. If these kids cant see that Myers complete flip-flop on his resignation, based on a good bowl practice, is complete BS....then I guess they deserve what they get.

I just wanted to stop by and give you guys an update on Powell. Right now the Trojans are recruiting Powell to be a SAM linebacker. Powell has been playing a little MIKE linebacker his senior season but he's not sure if he's up to playing LB in college.

Currently the trojans have 0 commits at the linebacker position and they are looking to add 3 solid prospects at LB. The targets are Powell, Hayes Pullard, Christian Jones, Jordan Zumwalt and Joe Hemschoot.

You guys are probably in the driver seat for Christian Jones.

If I get any updates I'll be sure to keep you guys informed.

I hope we do get Powell but from everything I've been hearing Powell is enamored with Florida and Urban Meyer. Meyer's recent retirement flip flop has thrown him for a loop a little bit and he's a little suspicious of Meyer's uncertainty in Florida but all indications are that Florida is still in the lead for Powell.

Why would Josh Shaw do the same? Shaw and Powell have a great relationship and talk all the time. They want to room together in college. Powell's relationship is with Coach Meyer, not Strong anyway.

Yeah I think Pete could but he's already had his in-home so if he visit UF on 1/15 then Urban makes his house call after his visit IMO that closes the deal. His family doesn't have much say in his recruiting also his HS coach and Brain White are really good friends. For some reason i'm more sure about Powell being a gator than Dunk.

Powell is still leaning hard toward Florida. The Moreno Valley, Calif., Rancho Verde defensive end has been considered for most of the recruiting season to be strong candidate to commit to the Gators at any time. He was supposed to commit on ESPN in December, but both parties couldn’t come to an agreement. Then the Urban Meyer fiasco began, giving Powell some pause. The word is that Powell has talked with Meyer about his future and if Powell feels comfortable with what Meyer has planned, he should end up in Florida’s 2010 class. Rivals.com ranks Powell as the No. 1 weakside defensive end in the country.
