'10 CA DT George Uko

there is no way in hell he is a UT fan.... i would be ecstatic that a guy of James's caliber is a VOl Lock even if i was loosing a bet.

yea MrBam is clearly isnt a UT fan. And on top of that he has absolutely no clue what a pro style offense is.

you obv have not been paying attention this recruiting season. Stuff like this happens all the time. Chaz green was not interested in us then BOOM were his leader

Did you just say Eric has not been paying attention to recruiting? That's a huge LOL!

ut needs uko to come in and take dan williams spot at dt he would fit good with miller, smith, willisand the delinemen we already have the defense would be great they will anyways but having uko for 3 years with our current talent on de will be in top 5 in country next season

This isn't last year. There won't be too many prospects, if any, that just come on our radar with just a few months to go.

seems like ahmad dixon jumped on our radar right? or latwan anderson? or the juwaun james decommit? or kelcy quarles now considering us? lemonier and smith now suddenly have us in the top 2? Already all this shiz has came out of left field and i expect more :hi:

Quarles has been on our radar since summer camps. JuWaun James had us in his Top 2 when he committed to Bama. Lemonier and Smith always had us in their top schools. Latwan Anderson doesn't even have us in his Top 3. So, out of all those guys you mentioned, Dixon is the only one you could say that is a surprise. Try again.

cha they might have been on our radar but it came out of left field to the public that they were so interested in us. And i saw in the calvin smith thread that we werent one of his top schools cuz he thought he was being recruited as an O lineman but then once we told him we are recruiting him as a DT then we jumped in to the top 2 that kinda came out of left field. And now corey nelson. Could you honestly say bout a few weeks ago that he would be visiting us? no... My point is that shiz always happens in recruiting and i expect it to keep happening. It's our staff and it's recruiting

There's not a lot that happens with less than 3 months to go until NSD. This isn't last year and the coaching staff already knows who they want on board. Now it's just a matter of finishing with the prospects we are after. Like I said, there's not going to be many surprises, if any, when NSD comes around. Most of it is already being laid out in front of us.

This new Uko info is completely laughable. None of it is true. Seeing who posted it on VQ I figured it was 100% false.

I was embarrassed to even bring it up yesterday to someone I was talking to close to the staff. Yeah it is absolutely false. Like I've said before outside of FlVol53 there is not one person on VQ that has any good sources unless you are talking Brent and Rob.

This is jmo, but this sounds kinda ridiculous and BTVs track record is getting worse and worse. The only thing I've seen him right on was when he pulled Shakim Phillips info out of left field. Here's some of the things he's said in recent weeks:

- Uko is a Vol lock
- UT has no shot with Luc, we didn't blow him away on his visit
- UT will not offer Matt Simms (Hubbs and LWS both disagree)
- Scroggins will be visiting for the Memphis game
- on Thursday, he posted that Dyer was committing to UT Friday

Take this info with a HUGE grain of salt. If he is right on this, I will believe every word he says from now on. Heck, if we don't offer Simms I will think more highly of him. I'm just very skeptical right now though...

That dude has no track record, LV. He's just another yahoo that came across one piece of information (that hasn't proved true or untrue) and everyone has started treating him like an insider.

Uko's latest from Rivals.com....

At this point in his recruitment, Uko is beginning to finalize which schools he will consider before making a commitment in January.

"The pressure is a little much," admitted Uko. "It's cool though - I'm just taking it all in stride. I think I'm pretty solid with my top four being UCLA, USC, Cal and Oregon. I probably won't take visits to Oklahoma or Tennessee."

His last official visit will be to USC Nov. 27, when the Trojans host cross-town rival UCLA.

So, IowaVol, you still trying to school me in keeping up with recruiting??

You've been a member here for 2 months. Everything is out of left field for you. Just sit back, read, and don't post for like a year or two, and then try again.

"Yeah, I think I'm done with visits," said Uko. "This trip was a lot of fun. I liked hanging out with the coaching staff, and I got along with the other recruits real well.

"SC has to be No. 1, UCLA was No. 2 and Cal was No. 3," said Uko. "Oregon would be last, but that was an unofficial. Just hanging out at SC after the game and getting to know the players meant a lot. That stood out to me."

Per Rivals...

Chino (CA) Don Lugo defensive lineman George Uko, who was named as an Under Armor All-American in his senior season, has decided to put an end to his recruitment and give USC head coach Pete Carroll his nonbinding verbal commitment.
