Ok....Let's move on...USC fans have claimed they have "Sources" inside the athletic department that claim Jesse is 100% a Trojan commitment....Sab, Turn out the lights on this thread, Utmba close the doors and lock em...Been a fun ride and thank you all and god bless.....Oh yeah here is the link. Jesse Scroggins Will Commit To USC - WeAreSC Forums

It has been a fun ride!

Good luck, Jesse! :wavey:

So...because some anonymous posters on a USC message board claim to have 'inside sources' in the USC AD that say he's going there we're all just supposed to pack it in?

What if someone came on here, claimed to have 'sources' inside the UT AD that claimed he is all Vol...would you be as quick to say it's all over for USC?

Didn't Jesse say that if you heard he was definitely going somewhere, then you shouldn't believe those rumors???

I still think its USC, but I doubt anyone outside of him, his family, coach, and the coaches of the three schools know.

Hey we have Ooltewahvols and Crunch that have confirmed Jesse is a Vol. Ooltewah swears it's true because he has an inside track with Jacques Smith. And Crunch had a vision. I think our sources are just as good as SC's. :)

You forgot the Trojan cameraman who works for ESPN. j/k... but somebody had to do the shoot.

What's funny to me is that several well-established, intelligent and insightful regulars on here are jumping all over every bit of message board 'inside' info and speaking of it as if it's set-in-stone proof that JS is going to USC...

In any other case these same people would trash other posters for blindly believing the same type of message board rumors

It has been a fun and enjoyable ride gentlemen. There were definitely ups and downs to the Scroggins Saga, but it looks to be finished. I motion to lock this thread until up to 2:30 so we don't lose more hours of our lives to this kid.

Good luck Jesse and it sucks you are never going to know what real college football is. I lived in Southern Cali for 10 years, and trust me, the passion is not even comparable to what it is here in Tennessee. I grew up a Raiders fan and hardly paid any attention to USC or college football. Say what you will, but people out there just do not care about their college football as much as here. NFL is another thing. NFL fans are crazies out there, but not on the collegiate level. Sure USC has tradition and the Rose Bowl is great. But I promise you one thing, you have not seen football until you step into the wonderful stadium named after one of the best collegiate coaches, General Robert Neyland. The sea of orange is overwhelming. The crazed fans are something else. We might not be as classy as the USC fans, but hey, it's football. What do you want, 90,000 fans with class barely getting riled up or 107,000 crazy redneck fans yelling at the top of their lungs! Think about it 107,000 fans cheering you on, yelling your name, singing that wonderful song we call Rocky Top! It's sad you will never be a part of that Jesse. I am glad I have been and would never trade that experience for anything. Good luck Jesse, but I do hope we meet again in a NC game or BCS bowl game and then we will show you what you missed out on. GO VOLS!

He hasn't even said he was going to USC yet. Just wait and see what happens.

My god stop for a minute an listen to what you are saying, his myspace this, his facebook that, my cousins neighbor saw the coaches a longhorns, couldn't we buy his family plane tix, his dad pressures him, his coach knows, someone saw his mom wearing USC gear, his friend went USC, if he listens to UM he's an idiot, he'll ride the pine the whole USC career, he be dumb not to be a vol........I want him to be a Vol as bad as the rest of you, but we are talking about a 17 year old kid trying to plan a GIANT paart of his future, maybe he does go SC to play for a proven system, rides the pine and injuries or better skills and leadership take him to the top, or maybe he does go to the Gators to play for quite honestly the best team of the 2000's(god that made me sick to type), or hopefully he chooses to come and start out the gates and create a new era of UT football, for a coach who hasn't proven anything yet except his ability to get a fan base excited and he and his staff can recruit. If this kid is reading our message board no wonder he has been torn, we are a bunch of adults foaming at the mouth over a very confused young man, by the way I have been quite interested too, but some of this has just been over the top, Scroggs come on down we'd love to have you, but best of luck where ever you go. Just my .02, let the blasting begin in 4.3.2...

absolutely! and i mean absolutely.

This whole Scroggings saga is giving me a headache. All the sources say he is USC bound but then you see his myspace comments you think otherwise. Scroggins says that he is announcing on ESPN to help with recruiting and also its during SEC media days. So you think this would be a ploy by Kiffin to attract more attention our way. I just dont know what to think Im completely confuse and am hoping he picks the Vols.

"Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious." Simone - Ferris Bueller's Day Off

I bet USC didn't paint a rock for him. Actually, I believe we even painted it twice before he got here, because some sorority girls painted over it the first time. Hopefully Scroggins realizes this and can see that this is just a sign of great things to come if he comes here. I am willing to bet that the things he will experience at UT and by being in the SEC, he will not find anywhere else.

For all of you guys trying to send him your personal opinion, I doubt Jesse reads this board. And if he somehow did, his decision has been made, and you aren't going to sway him.

I know he hasn't, but IMHO, everything is pointing for him to USC today. Step back and think about it. This kid grew up a USC fan and I am sure his childhood dream was to play for USC. Think about it. I knew when I was growing up and playing football, I would imagine myself to be Heath Schuler and Peyton Manning. If I would have had the opportunity to play for UT after high school, there is no doubt I would have played for them. If I had even a remote possibility of playing some day for my beloved school, I would commit to them in a heartbeat. I don't care if USC was offering me and I had an opportunity to start with them right away. I mean, we have wished too much for this kid, but I think it's time to step back for a minute and put yourself in this kids shoes. Would you not commit to your childhood team? This guys is a competitor and honestly believes he has a shot at USC and nobody will change his mind. He is a stubborn teenager. Again put yourself in his shoes and think that someone was telling you that you were not good enough to play for UT, but you honestly believed you had a chance to start one day. Would you not say screw you, I am good enough and commit to UT? Just think about it guys. I have hoped for Jesse to come to UT ever since this Scrog Dog ride started, but everything just makes sense for him to go to USC. I hate to admit it, but he is going to commit to USC, but that is IMHO. Believe what you want. Just throwing in what I believe. GO VOLS!

Yea, I agree!

Shoud we go ahead and start the "WTF are we going to do now" thread?...

I can't blame him if he chooses another school. The talent/depth is just not there on the OL.

I respect your opinion I just hope that you get a suprise around 3:00:)

And we all know he doesn't read this board. It's just a way for us to express our emotions on this board. It's a way for some people to relate our experiences and feelings on this board.

USC is the safe pick. Close to home, Dad can be more closely involved, minimal pressure for the first couple of years. But it also has the potential for absolutely no or minimal reward. He may never see the field or he might only see the field for one year. He'll be a part of a winning program, but not a primary contributor. Makes minimal impact to USC 2010 recruiting.

UT is the high risk, high reward pick. A bit of unknown with the coaching staff, mixed recent results, UT as a national brand a bit tarnished, depth of talent a bit lean. But great chance to start as Freshman and be a three or four year starter. Be considered a key component to a revived UT program. Will have tons of exposure and fan adoration. Huge impact to UT recruiting as he personally would help bring in some top level offensive recruits. Some family support potential but not as much as with Dad at USC. But with that comes lots of pressure and risk of failure.

UF doesn't make much sense at all. Similar QB depth situation as USC. No local family support whatsoever. Follows closely on the heels of the greatest QB in Florida history which is a tough act for anyone to follow. UF is at the top now and it's hard to imagine that they can stay there continuously over the next 4-5 years.

His decision boils down to proximity to father and mimimal pressure vs. huge spotlight, better starting opportunity and all the pressure that comes with that.

I just don't know enough about the kid to know what scenario he's more comfortable with.
