84-132 (64%) for 1,158 yards, 19 TDs, and 1 INT

Bray
61-98 (62%) for 1,291 yards, 18 TDs, and 2 INTs

Bray has played in one less game than Scroggins. Scroggins' competition is tougher...

Marginally better. He's also doing it with better support. Scroggins is more ready now and that's why we're still hounding him. If we had a player in house, Scroggins is done. I don't believe any of our coaches think Scroggins will be better two years from now.

I don't disagree with that, I just don't think that UT can afford to wait two years on a QB, and there's also a very good chance that Bray gets recruited over in the 2011 class.

I agree that he could be recruited over, but in some cases the 1 year of program experience (wiether he starts in 2010 or not) would put him in front of a 2011 FR. For at least a year.

I'm doubting we get Scroggins, but we have not given up. If we manage to pick up Bray with Scroggins, and or a JUCO I believe ginger is out for good.

Why can't we wait 2 years on a QB? It is a longshot for any freshman to come in next year and play QB. That's why we are getting a JUCO, to hold it down till Bray is ready. It isn't like we are going be dominant next year. Bray will be ready when Bryce, Oku, Nuke, Ambles, and a stud OL are...

I agree he can be recruited over, but so can Scroggins...

Well I just assumed Scroggins' weren't near as good and they're actually a lot closer than I originally thought. You could make a case that they're actually stats considering the competition.

My point is, I think it would be foolish to turn Scroggins away if he did in fact want to jump on like some people are insisting we should do.

I think with this staff we'll actually see that every position will be recruited over. Look at what was and still is done at USC- a stable of 5 or 6 more than capable backs, 3 or 4 qb's with the ability to start just about anywhere, same story at other positions.

If the last regime did this we probably wouldn't be facing the depth problems we are right now.

Scroggins can come in and will have a much much better chance at starting as a TF, which is what UT need right now, and Bray can't IMO. That's what it comes down to. I know the staff is checking out some JUCO guys but I seriously doubt that we end up offering any of them.

Bray is far too skinny and plays against weak competition.

I just think Scroggins is much more college ready, but your right that nobody knows for sure ATM.

Skinny is immaterial and any lack of competition means you just don't know. Some people just process faster and play to a slower field. That's why recruiting folks and GMs so regularly look like clowns on QBs.

Here is what Hubbs had to say about a possible JS visit.

I just spoke briefly with Scroggins who said he does not have a visit planned for the weekend of the Memphis game. But he did act like he has been in contact with Orgeron which is not a surprise.
