Looks like the mold and he had a good showing in the Elite 11 camp.

7/23/09 - Received verbal offer.
7/24/09 - His Father claims he is solid to San Diego State.

Even if he makes his stride longer he should still be running in the lowe 5's to high 4's. I think Ainge ran a 4.9

"I'm also hearing a lot from USC. I camped there twice and felt I did pretty well at both workouts. They offered Jesse Scroggins but said if he goes elsewhere, it's between me and Chase Rettig for the next quarterback offer."

Funny that Rettig was told he'd get the scholly if Scroggins went elsewhere.

I don't think UT is involved with this kid. I think we end up with Scroggins but if somehow that falls apart Rettig will be a Vol. But USC seems pretty high on Bray. Ex-vol Bates who is now the Offensive cord. at SC spent alot of time with this kid at Rising stars Camp. Plus SC is pretty much set at QB at least for awhile. They can take a little reach if they think this kid has a chance to be really special.

somewhere in the an article it said he could use his feet well to get out of trouble.I would like to see more recent stats. Then again he may be quick but not fast. If that makes since.

That is a little surprising. Especially with a possible USC offer coming his way... he must know something.

Marshall Faulk played at San Diego State. His career didn't end there. It did help he won the heisman while there.

The program has not done so well since. And a QB and an athlete/RB are different things. He needs blockers a RB and WRs.

What makes it even more surprising is this from ESPN on July 4th.

San Diego State snares a 2010 quarterback from Texas
Quarterback Adam Dingwell of Rockwell, Texas, has committed to the Aztecs.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound Dingwell chose San Diego State after taking part in its football camp.

Dingwell, who played tight end and free safety as a sophomore, started at quarterback as a junior and completed 124-of-201 pass attempts for 1,731 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also rushed for 171 yards and three touchdowns.

The Aztecs now have six pledges for the Class of 2010.

With age goes memory I forgot he actually finished fourth I think that year when Ward won it and the year before Gino won it.
