There is a article on 3rd Saturday in Blogtober about Bray. It says him and his dad will be in Knoxville for the UCLA game. It also says he might wait until NSD to commit.
If he waits until NSD to commit, I think that's a huge mistake. You really need a QB to commit earlier than that for the sake of recruiting. However, if we land Milton and another top WR to go along with Ambles, it might not matter anyways. I would say if he waits until NSD, Brunetti will be committed to UT by then. Getting Brunetti and Bray, now that would be sweet.
Bray arrived at the nationally prestigious Oklahoma camp on July 25, just a day after finishing the four-day Elite 11 Quarterback in Orange County that invited 12 of the nation's top quarterbacks. At the Elite camp run by quarterback guru Bob Johnson, Bray was second in the staff's MVP standings to Brigham Young commit Jake Heaps. But Bray won the Golden Gun Award for accuracy two of four days as well as the overall title.
PQB Tyler Bray, 6-6.5/190, Kingsburg (Calif.) High
ASSETS: Has excellent height, good touch and a quick release.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT: Needs to physically mature which should increase an already strong arm and make him more durable.
WHAT WAS MOST IMPRESSIVE AT COMBINE: Came straight from a superb four-day performance at the Elite 11 strictly for the chance to win overall QB MVP, which he accomplished.
CONCLUSION: I still expect San Diego State to be hit from all sides by other colleges for Bray's signature.
I know what he meant. I just wanted to point out that they are not on the same level even though the rankings are close...
Notes from his MVP performance at the the Ultimate 100 Camp:
This guy is tearing it up...
The Ainge comparison really is one of the better ones for him. The only thing is that Bray may end up growing a few inches though.
Can anyone think of a QB over 6'7?
Bray will check out the Vols
After his standout showing at the Elite 11 QB Camp a few weeks ago, you can expect Tyler Bray (Kingsburg, Calif.) to attract some national interest and that is exactly what has happened.
Bray committed early to San Diego State but has said he's still open to listening to other programs. One school making a big push right now is Tennessee and the signal caller has set up an official visit to Knoxville.
"Tennessee actually offered me while I was at the Elite 11," Bray said. "That was exciting and I'm very interested in checking them out. I'm taking my official visit (Sept. 12) when they host UCLA.
"I don't know a lot about the school but I know they're a big time program and play in a great conference. I've also heard UCLA might start to recruit me and that was my favorite school growing up but I haven't heard anything from them just yet."
Bray said he would like to take all five of his official visits and could wait until close to signing day before making a final decision. Bray was voted runner up for MVP honors at the Elite 11 and also won the award for Most Upside, as voted by the college counselors at the event.
