Just curious but why does everyone think he needs to put on weight? Would be nice but it's not like he is going to be pulling the ball down and running often. Barely ever probably. If the line protects him, shouldn't matter what he weights as long as he can hurl the pig skin and hurl it accurately.

Well he will be hit back there a few times and having more muscle mass will help lesson the blow!

No matter what happens, he's going to get hit. It doesn't matter how good the OL is.

The hit Ainge took against Cal would have probably took Bray out for the season.

Basically, its just there to make you stronger and protect you. He's probably going to have a stronger arm as he gets bigger, which helps, and it should help him not get injured as often, play through smaller injuries, blah blah blah.

I agree, but what Bray will find at SDSU is a QB coach that can do one thing no Tenn coach can do, and that is answer the following question- "What's it like to take a snap in the NFL?"

My breakdown of SDSU vs Tenn battle for Bray-

SDSU advantages- girls, weather, lifestyle, pot, proximity, QB coach.

Tenn advantages- everything else.

You're high.

The shock waves are already being felt around the SEC....Now let's go get one more qb and some big uglies to block for them.

My guess is that the sources Hooker talked to in the AD were not sure if Bray had made the announcement official, so they claimed they had no information about a commitment. They've known since Saturday that he was a Volunteer. Until they see the info out there, they aren't going to comment to Hooker on it. That is good - honoring the kids wishes to decommit from SDSU first and then announce his commitment to UT.

if there's no news, then Hooker shouldn't be posting an update.

no news = nothing to report.

Hooker is one of the most hapless people I have had the misfortune of following. Knoxville/Vol fans deserve someone more thoughtful and professional. He consistently makes himself look incompetent and disorganized.

I understand he will get hit and gaining weight will help prevent injuries. I'm just thinking that's more of a luxury than a need. Ainge was sacked what, 4 times a couple years ago? I know the number was low and that's very rare but I just don't think Bray has to gain wait to be successful. I would like for him to so he doesn't go down with injury but he should be fine throwing a ball at 200lbs or 220lbs. I am sure he'll gain weight prior to his freshman year on campus so it's not really an issue. I just think saying need is an over exaggeration. To me, it's a luxury. Not a requirement.

Ainge got sacked 4 times because he threw the ball away after 3 steps. Our OL play last year was more indicative of the talent level we had that year.

He'll be fine either way though, it's just a matter of time.

Hopefully we don't have to find out until he is a sophomore. If we are seeing him on the field as a freshman outside of mop up duty.... :hmm:

I've felt the same way about him for a while...but today's "column" hammers those feelings home...

Several sites break the Bray commitment and he immediately writes a column claiming it's all a big rumor in a pathetic attempt to steal the thunder he missed out on by not breaking the story himself...

That's pathetic

I think he was questioning it because he believes girls are hotter in Tennessee. Unless you are saying they are hotter in California.

I really don't know what is going on anymore.

Bray is a Vol.:good!:

Yes, that is why I bolded it. Cali girls are great, but I will never let anyone disrespect the fine lookin females we have on campus at the University of Tennessee.

yes yes i know. I was wrong. i thought he would go to SDSU but now hes a vol. im still happy about it though :dance2:

Yes you were my friend. And here you are. I believe you've been eating crow since you showed up right after it was made known Bray committed to the Vols.

So guys.... he has eaten crow. Time to back off a bit. I've witnessed much dumber things in my life time. Heck, people on here would say I've said dumber things. I probably have. Who knows.

Guess what? Bray is a Vol. :eek:k:

cali girls are dumb. (most)

"Oh, I'm not confused.... You know who is confused? Bimbos. They're easily confused. It's one of the thousand little things I love about them. I love their vacant, trusting stares. Their sluggish, unencumbered minds, their unresolved daddy issues. I love them, and they love me. Bimbos have always been there for me, through thick and thin -- mostly thin. B-man don't do thick crust, What up?!"
