I would really love to see our staff still pursue and offer Garrett Grayson. I think he will be a very good QB in college.

Justin Worley is our guy 2011 though...

How in the world is Bray a 3 star on Scout? Retarded. Oh well Bradford and Colt were also 3 stars I believe.

Bray was 2nd at the Elite 11 and that just gets you three stars?

Bradford and McCoy were 4stars on Scout, but 3stars on Rivals. Both sites have their hits and their misses...

But look at the rest of UTs recruits' ranking on the 2 sites. On Rivals, we have six 4star players committed. But on Scout, we have two 5stars and seven 4stars...

Who cares? It will just motivate him to work harder and be better.

Just not understanding their criteria is all.

I am tickled to death to have Bray. He is just the type that we want for our QB and I hope this stops all of the Munchie, Bell Scroggins, Sims, Brunetti, Heaps, and especially Tahj Boyd chitter chatter on this forum.

After hearing about his performances, watching the Elite 11, reading up on the kid, and such I think this kid is probably the best QB out the entire country outside of Heaps. He has the most upside, etc. I was not impressed with Phillip Sims or Blake Bell in the Elite 11 special. Bray outperformed a lot of great talent.

I just hope that his Senior year is a fantastic one. People are watching intently on his performance in HS this last year. I also love the fact he will be on campus early. Getting a head start on the action is just a great sign

I'm glad we got this guy....you won't find many QB's taller or as tall as Bray. At 6-6 he should be able to pass over defensive lines fairly easy. He's 200 lbs., he gets up to about 220 and that will be about right. I'm excited about this signing. I think he may be a diamond in the rough

There is a 0% chance Bray weighs 200lbs right now. He's quoted recently as saying "I'm PRETTY MUCH 200lbs (Scout.com)" which means more like 188-192 dripping wet.

Also, he's closer to 6'7 than 6'6 and that extra inch makes him look even more skinny. So, I don't see him logically gaining 30 lbs between now and next Fall. He'll sweat alot of his gains out in high school games, spring practice, and summer practice. It's going to be tough to get the nod over a 5th year SR in Nick Stephens (not because of talent, trust me, solely because of playbook and running the offense)......

I think the ideal weight for him to make a run at the starting QB job his true frosh season is 215. In other words, he needs to gain about 25lbs, especially lower body. By his soph season he needs to be 220-225. I think his perfect playing weight (junior season) would be more like 230-235 range. He could easily add that weight on in 3 years and gain massive arm strength in the process.

BTW, I told OrangeHammer on Sunday that Bray was committing today..... Don't believe me, believe me, it doesn't matter. I'm not going to blab about a "source" or anything. I just happened to overhear some things about the Bray family and their additional time in Knoxville.

Check the Matt Primh article "Tyler Bray update" it's somewhere in there.

Oh well, doesn't matter... GO VOLS!!!

I am still crossing my fingers that is not the case. If he is in the running to start as a true freshman, I am thinking it's because Stephens is sucking and not because Bray is tearing it up. That or Stephens is injured. Either way... let's hope starting as a true freshman isn't an issue. Red shirt freshman or sophomore sounds a lot more appealing. Hopefully Lamaison can be an adequate quarterback if Stephens is sucking or injured.

He will be a stud for us in a couple of years. Let him get accustomed to the system and he will turn it.

lol, As soon as he steps on campus they need to stick him with Marlon Walls. He'll gain 80lbs in 3 months and be turned into an O-lineman (hey, we need those too!).

kidding of course.

I don't think UT is involved with this kid. I think we end up with Scroggins but if somehow that falls apart Rettig will be a Vol. But USC seems pretty high on Bray. Ex-vol Bates who is now the Offensive cord. at SC spent alot of time with this kid at Rising stars Camp. Plus SC is pretty much set at QB at least for awhile. They can take a little reach if they think this kid has a chance to be really special.

......... They were. You didn't. Again, you didn't. Yes Bates did. Indeed SC is set (and now is Tennessee). IMO he is very (special). You should be gald you got him and not Scroggins or Rettig.

I know 'Ole Orange' and 'Vol61' must be very upset UT 'settled' with Ty. And Jewbaccah geezus your an idiot!!!!!! In My Not So Humble Opinion.

Ok, so off my little rant and back to the topic at hand. Congrats to my boy Ty. Congrats to UT. Although I have always been a Vol fan I was never a Vol fanatic. Now I will be watching every Saturday and rooting for UT!!!

Parkay32 I am feelin Ya!!!

There is a great chance that if he plays great, his ranking will go up. I picture a 5 star ranking after his senior season.

Congratulations

wh gives a rats a?? about 5 stars. jesus there are a bunch of star f?&*ers out their. A star ranking means nothing. Just be happy that we got our qb for the future.

When was the last time the Scout rankings were updated? I know Rivals updated theirs recently, so maybe Scout is just behind.

I'm glad and relieved that UT finally got its QB of the future. Bray has talent for sure. We will see how he does in his upcoming season. It's still kinda weird that he doesn't have any other offers from major schools. And I don't care what ratings he gets just so long as he gets his game together b/c we will need him early. We will also be recruiting over him next year.

Scout re-did their rankings about 2 weeks before the new Rivals stuff came out. One of the main recruiting guys over there said Bray will stay a 3-star for now and that there won't be any changes until they evaluate his senior season. So, don't expect them to change anything for a little while anyway.
