'10 CA QB Tyler Bray (Commit/On Campus)

Bray is a better fit for the Tennessee program. This (Scroggins commitment to USC) would be the best thing that could have happened to UT if we could land Tyler.

I think its time we make a run at Bray or Grayson, hell maybe we should try to land both. It doesn't matter at this point, all that matters is that we secure a QB(other than Lamaison)and fast. It will attract more recruits as we get a QB, and thats exactly what Kiffin must do.

But didn't you hear that Scroggins was the only QB left who could accomplish that?

Not exactly. If Grayson or Bray perform really well at camps and have a breakout year, both of there stocks will steadily start to rise. Grayson is really interested in Tennessee and sounds like a someone we should go after.

The one thing that stinks about getting scroggins is people know his name. Even if these other guys (which might be as good if not better who knows with high school kids) start to get noticed it might be too late to get the attention of your big time kids ex: ambles, cobbs, prater, ect. I want those guys more than any qb in this class and I just hope that the staff can persuade those guys that whoever kiffs qb is, is good enough to win.

However I just want someone within the next week or two. The sooner the qb commit the better. I hear all these people saying wait till NSD but that is really not logical if you want to bring in the overall talent the staff wants to bring in.

"I'm definitely open to looking at Tennessee and hearing what the coaches have to say," Bray said. "I don't know a lot about them, but I know they have a lot of tradition and play in a great conference."

Sweet. Does anyone think bray may be the surprise that monte and cregg were supposedly talking about. Maybe he didn't mean a commit but an offer. Who knows? haha

I don't think the coaches would be talking about surprises if they didn't feel confident that someone was about to commit. JMO

Our competition this time is San Diego State. This battle should be much easier. JMO

yeah, and we lost Chase Rettig to BC. yes, BC is not SDSU, but come on, BC? everyone was so sure that we, UT, who plays in the SEC, could best BC in a recruiting battle. it wasnt long, and we lost. granted we didnt pursue it whole heartedly, but still...

we have a better shot with this guy. but its early. by september, maybe UF will go after this guy just for kicks and to rub it in CLKs face :dunno: then what?

point being, we have to put just as much effort into this as we did JS, and hope that we beat another team to it and that loyalty to SDSU isnt a factor like loyalty was for CR to BC...

Rivals.com analyst Barry Every rated Bray has the No. 3 pro-style quarterback at the event, ahead of Scroggins as well as Cal and Oklahoma commitments Austin Hinder and Blake Bell.

Per VQ... Bray is now rated as the #229 prospect in the nation. Solid...

I don't think the staff put much effort into recruiting Rettig. I seem to remember a reliable poster who said the coaches were never really sold on Rettig (maybe it was LWS, IDK for sure). I know we offered, but that doesn't mean they really wanted him.

I don't think we'll just be able to offer Bray and then ignore him for months and expect him to commit, but if we push hard to get him like we did for Scroggins, I wouldn't bet on SDSU being able to keep him.
