'10 CA S Dietrich Riley

Riley in the back field would be sick! Got to love Ambles. He's Vols all the way!

He's like JS all over again. When I say JS, I mean Jacques of course

Ambles means more to recruiting than Smith even though Smith bleeds orange.

You think?

JS was a critical get for us. A top notch D line prospect (5 star by scout) in a position of our greatest need. Number 1 prospect out of our state. JS was as big if not bigger than Ambles. Ambles maybe a great get for the offensive recruiting, but to dismiss JS and say he was second fiddle to Ambles...just can't agree with that

Like the gentlemen above me said, I think Ambles just has more national contacts. He appears to be an extremely gregarious person, and has obviously made a lot of friends in these summer camps.

he never said Ambles was a better pick up. He just means more to recruiting which he does. He said that in the context that Ambles will help way more the JS.

Michigan also is staying in the mix with Miami Central's Brandon Gainer, Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High's Cassius McDowell and La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis' Dietrich Riley. Riley is being recruited as a safety by everyone except for Michigan.

Michigan is recruiting him as a RB FWIW.

No commitment has helped the Vols more in recruiting than the Peach state native. He has been talking to every recruit that he can get in contact with by either phone call, text message or Facebook. Ambles has been talking regularly with California safety Dietrich Riley and he feels confident that the left coast athlete will be heading east.

"I think he is going to do something pretty soon," Ambles said about a possible Riley commitment. "I think it's going to be Tennessee, but he's not told me for sure. I'm in his ear every day."

"I picked up another offer from Florida State last week and I was real excited about that," said Riley. "Also I just got off the phone with Tennessee. I finally got to talk with Coach Monte Kiffin and Coach Lane Kiffin. Offers are still rolling in. Hopefully I can get Ohio State here soon. I have been talking to Coach (Taver) Johnson for quite some time, so they are still on the list as well."

"I finally got to talk with Coach Monte Kiffin and Coach Lane Kiffin," said Riley. "Just to hear their energy was real exciting. I can't wait to be a part of the Western Kentucky or Auburn game. It was just an honor to be on the phone with them."

He continued, "One thing that stands out about Tennessee is how they support Eric Berry. All the billboards around the city of Knoxville, and they are trying to help him get votes for the Heisman. That just shows how everyone loves football over there. Coach Kiffin is a great coach who is just a defensive guru. He was just telling me how he would get me to the next level."

Per Rivals... It really seems like Riley is a UT lock. This was from Ohio State's Rivals site today. He hardly talked about the Buckeyes or any other school. He just kept bringing up the Vols...

It certainly sounds like he is a Vols lean...

My question is why delay? Why not just go ahead and commit?

A lot of these kids are being pressured by the in-state guys. Example, DeMarco Cobbs. He would have probably committed by now if he thought he wouldn't start a crap storm by going out of state and not showing much interest in the home school. These guys will probably get through their HS seasons first, then go public, IMO.

I believe your right. Could you imagine every home game during your senior season some shumk giving you crap for leaving the state. bad enough to hear some drunk telling you they can run a better route.

As much as I would like to snag another recruit, I'm glad that they take their time and make sure that they are comfortable with their decision. I'd rather have 5 solid commits than 10 wavering ones. JMO

I think he's a Vol also, but you can't rush a recruit. They'll end up backing out and decommiting later. He'll commit when he's ready. There isn't any school on him as hard as we are. In the end he'll be a Vol.

Riley doesn’t have any official visits scheduled yet but says he’s hoping to visit Tennessee on Oct. 3 when they take on Auburn. “It isn’t set yet, but that’s the date we’ve talked about,” he said. “I can’t wait to go there for a visit and be part of the 112,000 people rockin’ the stadium.”

He says the Vols have been recruiting him the hardest. “They are sending a great amount of letters,” he said. “I get like three letters a day from them. They’re really blowing me away with all the stuff they send.”

The Vols are recruiting Riley as a safety. “I think Tennessee is going to be coming back strong,” he said. “Coach Lane Kiffin has put together an incredible coaching staff and I think they’ll be making a run for the national championship in the next few years. I love the coaches attitude and the swagger they have.”

I don't want to say he is in the bag, but I mean damn that sounds really good.
