You think?
JS was a critical get for us. A top notch D line prospect (5 star by scout) in a position of our greatest need. Number 1 prospect out of our state. JS was as big if not bigger than Ambles. Ambles maybe a great get for the offensive recruiting, but to dismiss JS and say he was second fiddle to Ambles...just can't agree with that
"I picked up another offer from Florida State last week and I was real excited about that," said Riley. "Also I just got off the phone with Tennessee. I finally got to talk with Coach Monte Kiffin and Coach Lane Kiffin. Offers are still rolling in. Hopefully I can get Ohio State here soon. I have been talking to Coach (Taver) Johnson for quite some time, so they are still on the list as well."
"I finally got to talk with Coach Monte Kiffin and Coach Lane Kiffin," said Riley. "Just to hear their energy was real exciting. I can't wait to be a part of the Western Kentucky or Auburn game. It was just an honor to be on the phone with them."
He continued, "One thing that stands out about Tennessee is how they support Eric Berry. All the billboards around the city of Knoxville, and they are trying to help him get votes for the Heisman. That just shows how everyone loves football over there. Coach Kiffin is a great coach who is just a defensive guru. He was just telling me how he would get me to the next level."
It certainly sounds like he is a Vols lean...
My question is why delay? Why not just go ahead and commit?
Riley doesn’t have any official visits scheduled yet but says he’s hoping to visit Tennessee on Oct. 3 when they take on Auburn. “It isn’t set yet, but that’s the date we’ve talked about,” he said. “I can’t wait to go there for a visit and be part of the 112,000 people rockin’ the stadium.”
He says the Vols have been recruiting him the hardest. “They are sending a great amount of letters,” he said. “I get like three letters a day from them. They’re really blowing me away with all the stuff they send.”
The Vols are recruiting Riley as a safety. “I think Tennessee is going to be coming back strong,” he said. “Coach Lane Kiffin has put together an incredible coaching staff and I think they’ll be making a run for the national championship in the next few years. I love the coaches attitude and the swagger they have.”
