'10 CA S Dietrich Riley

No offense to Riley, but at USC I would highly doubt his future would be at RB. Continually a numbers game there, and you really can't just be a "good" RB and end up with 15-30 carries a game for the Trojans.

Unless the kid is quoted as saying "(Insert school) is where I have signed my LOI to and that's where I want to play" I just don't believe anything. That goes for Juwuan James, too. They are high school seniors, and until they sign that dotted line, nothing else matters.

Tony Jefferson is planning to take some visits.
Jefferson wants to take an official visit to Gainesville on Nov. 28, when the Gators play host to Florida State, but word has it that Florida is done at safety. Florida loves Jefferson as a player, but with all the issues with Elam's commitment - he has visited West Virginia and Tennessee recently - there's no way the Gators going to mess around with another safety and have told Elam as much.

- Mike Farrell

Seems like Riley was a ploy to secure Elam more than anything else.

He's saying that the Gators Offering D.Riley was just a way to set Elam straight and make him realize where he needs to be (gainesville)

Given how much we love Berry around here, and the impact that J. Jackson has had this year I just don't understand why Elam or Riley would not want to come here and play alongside Jackson and be the next Berry.... I mean hell, we like Berry so much that we are counting down to 2014 when we can hopefully get both of his twin brothers!!!

I think that Florida went after Riley just to show Elam that they had other options. It doesn't appear that they will be pursuing another safety in this class.

Surely Meyer wouldn't do something sly like this...at least not according to my friend that is a Florida fan. :eek:hmy:

look at the year that they will be recruted, little ironic

I, like everyone else, really want Riley, but lets be honest...we can afford to wait another year for a safety if need be (or we get a gaggle of OL commit). I'm not suprised to hear that he's leaning towards SC. If a kid in that area gets an SC offer...they go. Just the way it is.

With Berry leaving and JJ already occupying a starting job, it looks as if Myles is likely to step into the job next year. We have a young secondary with talent and some experience. We lose EB amd Marsalous Johnson this year (although I wouldn't be suprised to see Vinson gone this time next year.) That leaves Rogan, Jackson, Myles, Waggner, Evans, Raines, Vinson, Wilks, Anderson, Edwards, Gordon and Oliver. Thats 12 guys returning in the secondary. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't seem like a huge need. Sure, if you get a top kid to commit...take him. But, I don't feel like its enough of a need to reach.

I know it kind of seems like a long shot, but I really want him. I like kids with a good head on their shoulder, i.e. Berry and Riley (who he loves). I think there is a still chance, albeit a long one. He would have a bright future in orange.

Anytime you can add an athlete like Riley to your squad, you take advantage, and then you find a way to get him on the field.

I agree...I said you take him if you get him. What I was referring to was the need to pick up a safety. It doesn't seem like its a must-have for this class.

Obviously, you take a Riley or Elam if you get them, but I just can't see us reaching or settling for a safety right now.

lol I refuse to follow twitter. I'm not a 12 y/o girl. But for all of those who will suck it up and check out twitter pages.. anything good for UT showing up?

he sure likes attention.
Nice to see another Indiana volunteer... I'm in Terre Haute... This is my first time posting on this site although I've read through these recruiting pages before.

Can anyone fill me in on who the reliable sources are on here? don't need to know credentials, I'd just like to know who seems to be right more times than not.

Sab, LV, Gator Hater, Matt Sullivan seem to be the 4 I think of first. There are some on here who claim to be reliable, but usually arent haha... ~The Expert :p

It may not be best to open your Vol Nation posting career by labeling Dietrich Riley, Jeff Luc, Tobias Harris, and many other Tennessee recruits as 12-year-old girls.

Other than that... Welcome!
