Thing is, the coaches let these kids know when they are willing to accept commits from them or not. They also tell them when they will go public with it.
I'm just getting into the whole recruiting scene so can someone explain to me why a player would want to be silent? I mean I know if it was me I'd want everyone to know and get it over with.. well I know it's not over until the LOI is signed but at least then it would be a little less hectic I would think
I dont know if I like the idea of an early signing period because of what happened with us and alot of recruits last year. We never would have landed Nuke and Teague and probably would have never had a shot with BB. I think an early signing period kills the chances of teams going through coaching changes who would get a late start in recruiting. But at the same time I think there should be a deadline so the process doesnt go on forever like some kids do.
“They are recruiting me harder than anyone,” Riley said. “They have really turned up the heat. I get a handwritten letter from them everyday, usually more than one. I’m getting the most from Ed Orgeron and Coach Cregg."
“Right now I’m planning on taking an official visit to Tennessee for sure,” Riley said. “We are talking about coming down for the Georgia game. I want to check things out and see what kind of game day atmosphere I can expect at Rocky Top.”
“USC has always been one of my dream schools,” Riley said. “But I want to explore other lifestyles away from the West Coast. You never know I may find something I like better than what I’m use to. Every school that has offered me I’m open to at this point.”
Sweet..... I had just saw the article and wandered what it said. I don't have membership.Per Scout... This sounds VERY encouraging. He also said when he visited last year and the stadium blew him away. He imagined himself running though the T. He said Orgeron still sticks out in his mind from when he was attending camps at USC when he was 11 and 12 years old...
La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis safety Dietrich Riley kept hearing from the Alabama coaching staff but had no clue why. Sure, the Crimson Tide were interested but he thought they hadn't offered and so he was confused as to why the coaches kept telling him they wanted him. Then he picked up some mail at school and, lo and behold, an Alabama offer had been sitting there for weeks. Distance is not a factor, Riley said, and so Oklahoma, Alabama, Michigan and Notre Dame are some of his top teams. Still, many feel USC is the team to beat, with Arizona State also strongly in the mix.
