'10 CA S Dietrich Riley

wow.... Florida tells him,

"um, kind of hold off on visiting us, we've got this deal with Elam that we won't take any other safeties.... yah, sorry about that. Goodluck at USC!"

Elam decommits;

"So, uh, Riley, we've got great news!!! We'd love to have you visit our program and guess what, your offer is still intact!!

If D. Riley doesn’t see straight through this bs he's a DA and I don't want DA's playing for UT.
I heard herbstreit on XM today say hes 85 percent sure meyer is gonna step down because hes been hearing rumors that hes gonna be an announcer for one of the networks thats coming from an announcer so well see how true it is.

ClearWater- yeah he loves all his visit but I think that having Shaw and maybe Powell will help the gator.....as with Shaw, this kid loves Urban and has spoken with him daily since the "flip".... I think he's a Cali kid that will decide to wait a few years for PT at USC because its his dream school. UF will find a replacement for Elam but until NSD they will be after Riley. He also likes the fact that he could see the field on offense at UF. Still saying USC.

Meyer has a subarchnoid cyst in his brain which isn't really that serious most of the time but with the heart issues also, there could be a more serious underlying issue. Does his parents have similar issues, I wonder?

I'm pretty sure that stuff happens all the time, everywhere.

thats unlikely because during the dead period coaches could only call a recruit once a week. so either shaw would have had to call meyer every day or meyer is cheating. hmmmm....

kids can call as much as they like, coaches get only one call per week. Riley and Shaw were roommates for UA game. If needed I can post a link to NCAA recruiting rules page for the "dead period".

Thats understood, but lets be honest every coach cheats either a lot or a little doesent matter what school it is...

Yeah but it could always come back to bite them in the A$$ becuase of paper trails, emails, text msg, phone logs when the NCAA decides to investigate they get down like Horatio Cane except when it comes to US$.

How bout option #3 - the coach knows he can only call one a week during the dead period so he tells 5-10 priority recruits to call him daily. this stays within the rules and if the recruit is really interested in a scholly, they will call everyday...actually makes the process easier in a way for the coaches.

don't kid yourself, this is what every "good" coach does during he dead period

True, but all that can be swept under the rug with the dead presidents.. which is what I truly believe happened with Bush and the USC investigation.

Sounds like a Saban rule to me..

Haha...maybe...but if you want to get creative and stick to exactly what the rule says, then the NCAA can't slap your hand for it and you still get around the spirit of the rule of limited contact. But hey if Saban and CUM can do it i sure hope Kiff and coach O do too

sounds like Gator/USC battle i see..oh well...speaking of Shaw that kid is ESPN's next Tebow/meyer love session...he was interviewed almost 10 times about how much he is "in love" with meyer...Meyer must have the Austin Powers Mojo

LSU offers Riley

Dietrich Riley (La Canada, Calif./St. Francis) picked up a new offer Monday and is finalizing his visit plans for the month.

Riley, one of the elite safety recruits in the nation, returned home over the weekend after playing in the Under Armour All-America Game.

"I had a great time," Riley said. "My knee is still messed up and I've had to get it drained, which wasn't fun, but it feels better now. It affected me a little but I still thought I did well and showed I belonged out there with the best of the best."

Although it's very late in the process, Riley picked up a new offer and said he'll likely schedule one of his remaining visits to the school.

"LSU offered and I'm pretty excited about it," Riley said. "I don't know as much about them as I do some of the other schools, but I'm going to try and take my last visit out there. I've heard great things about the place and I want to check them out for sure.

"I'm going to visit Florida this weekend and then USC (Jan. 15). USC is my leader still, but things could change and I'm keeping an open mind to every school. I'm still looking at Notre Dame, UCLA, Tennessee, Cal and a few others."

Just heard that he committed to Florida...

And no, I don't have a link.

This is good for UT and Dorsey. And I think Dorsey is by far the better of the two.

Say it ain't so!!! ...I hope your wrong sir! I personally really liked Riley! I thought he was high on us for so long too. I figured if we lost him it would have been to USC, his dream school, or Florida, if Elam wasn't part of the equation.

the problem is uf might be making a good trade and we might get the short end of the stick. if they get riley and dorsey doesnt qualify tht would suck for us. it all depends on if dorsey qualifies.

and for the record, i think riley is more of a taylor mays, hard hitter type where dorsey has more speed and better coverage skills. I think dorsey gets an edge on who is the better safety even though riley is the number 8 safety and drosey the number 28 safety, according to rivals.

IMO if his grades are together yall will get Dorsey with Matt coming back again no matter if Riley is a gator or not...*Sigh* Dorsey and Elam don't mix and I think Dorsey knows that he's going to be second to Matt always....this soap opera proves it.

Riley and Elam in the defensive backfield is scary...especially for across the middle routes. They can both lay a beating.
