I don't know though. Being a career back up at SC, you can still earn a 60 million dollar deal, is not a bad option either.

This is definitely good news that Scroggins didn't announce with Bailey, because if he did it surely would have been to USC. That means that probably either:

A) Scroggins isn't going to choose the same school as Bailey (in which case it would probably be UT)

or

B) Scroggins hasn't decided yet, which isn't bad news at all and we're still in it.

While that's true, if Scroggins felt strongly about USC, he would have gone ahead and committed with his friend Dion. And Bailey has been practically a USC lock for some time now.

I thought about that as well, but the truth could be as simple as Jesse didn't want to detract from Dion's time in the sun.

These kids are teammates though, they do practically everything together and they've been friends for a long time... In a perfect would they would have liked to commit together. JMO

I agree, but the thing is Jesse is a higher profile guy at this point at Dion's commitment would be overshadowed if they did it together. I think it's classy for Jesse to do that, if it's the case.

Bailey made a decision based on what he felt was his best choice. Notre Dame finished 2nd for Bailey's services and the Irish didn't even offer Scroggins.

Everyone wants to play with their friends, but it rarely happens.

This was a good day for Tennessee. It would've better had Bailey delayed his announcement and given Tennessee a visit, but this was the next best thing.

Disagree completely. The pressure would have been for him to commit at the same time.

For me, this has more tipped the scale toward thinking he's going to UT and has the timing worked out with Kiffin to get alot of recruits' attention right as they start fall practice... and start finalizing plans for their officials.

ive been thinking USC for a while now but I do have to say it makes me question why he didnt commit with his buddy yesterday. If he is waiting for the big pub to annouce he says its for the school he chooses to get recruiting momentum, which by the way USC and Florida hardly need.

So, we only offered Bailey to get Scroggins? Per JS. JS has no clue to how this recruiting thing works.

I'm pretty sure he said we offered Jerry Anderson, Jesse Scroggins' cousin, to get him, we offered Dion Bailey because he's a pretty good safety.

He was saying we were only considering his cousin to land him. He was singing a different tune about the situation when he was in K-town. Scroggins was just looking for reasons to go to USC. You're right about Bailey. We would have taken him with, or without Scroggins.
