'10 FL ATH Matt Elam

I could have sworn I read in the Rivals article about Elam re-affirming his commit to UF, that it had a lot to do with finding out that an un-named coach had told him something about how he would be the next so-and-so....then Elam talked to another recruit and found out that recruit had been told the same thing. I didnt read back through this entire thread, so I apologize if this has already been covered.....but that sure sounds a lot like CLK trying to sell him AND Riley on being the next EB.

I dont see the problem with that, they both, if they come to UT, have an equal shot at "trying" to be the next EB. No one will be, but still, I dont see anything wrong with that recruiting strategy, the best players will play at UT, and they both have a chance to be the best.

The problem was just that it seemed to tick Elam off.....in the article, he made it sound like it was a very large reason why he re-affirmed his commitment to UF.

Yeah...seems a bit sensitive. CEO will eat his soul...

Of course, I called GJones soft and look at how he responded.

and just as I was ready to get on him again for kinda going quietly, he scored another. As good a week as Crompton had, it was equally huge GJones and his confidence.

Is this a bad sign for the Gators or UT? I put quite a bit of stock in your posts, B2BG, but I often get confused about whose perspective you're speaking from.

So, are you saying Elam doesn't like the situation with Strong most likely NOT being there next year? Or, are you saying Elam is not really bothered by it?

Thanks.

The math is simple.

Monte>Charlie

UT>UF

Elam may not be 100% Gator because he is a 18yr kid and NO recruit is 100% until after NSD but he's FIRM and Meyer is not going to do anything to allow Kiffin and O to fuel anymore doubt. The one-on-one time put UF back on top now that Dowling is moving WR and Dorsey all but gone(staff not going to block visit). Meyer wouldn't have taken visit from Tony Jefferson if he felt it would push Matt out the door. Dorsey just became the odd man out. Matt 70-20%UT-10%WVU. At this point I think Kiffin is hoping Meyer fumbles a long the way but Kiffin isn't helping his case by going after every S in the country. Matt main concern is PT and UT may not be able to give him more than UF. jmo

With EB mostly leaving after this year he could have a good chance of playing at UT next year.

Your comment made me think of this...

Miracle Max: Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there's usually only one thing you can do.

Inigo Montoya: What's that?

Miracle Max: Go through his clothes and look for loose change.
