Never underestimate Kiffin and staff in recruiting. Just remember we got Janzen Jackson and Bryce Brown (two five-stars) on National Signing Day and after in the last recruiting class.

Our class will be top three (if not #1) this year.

Kiffin and company are GREAT recruiters but turning that many recruits to win the MRC is going to be hard also turning an EE wtih less than two weeks would be even tougher imo.

I don't think Kiffin/Hamilton would anty up and match his offer at FSU. Simple as that. Its understandable on both parts.

If you shovel snow for a living, there's no point in residing in FL. If you recruit football players from Florida for a living...well, surely you guys can see the logic.

Heard MH offered Gran another 100k but he still wanted to go to FSU. I think we valued the connections Gran had but I think Kiffin believes we need an upgrade on special teams.

I would also add that this is mostly an NFL staff used to putting in NFL hours as far as preparation; outworking the competition in every aspect isn't for every coach.

Not sure that means anything in regards to Gran but it could be a factor along with the money increase. A lot of this is my feeling after reading some articles and threads on other sites, I may be completely misinformed.

What's going on with Dixon? I thought he was close to committing at one point. Was he affected by Wilson leaving?

He wasn't really close to committing unless he's just a really good liar. But I guarantee he doesn't end up at Baylor.

Only negative is, if it's set in stone, Elam is an EE so it'd have to be soon. I'm pretty sure Dixon is a summer term guy.

Gran will be more of a thorn at FSU than at UT IMO but good thing EE have to have everything signed and submitted next week IIRC. Is PBD still in the playoffs?

Dwyer is still in the playoffs, they play Armwood this week. I agree I would rather have Gran stayed at UT, I don't necessarily think he's a great coach but he's an amazing recruiter.

As it has been stated many times, Elam's relationship has always been with Meyer who has been handling his recruitment. Meyer has known Matt since Meyer's ND days.

Elam is just a pipe dream of mine haha.

I think Dixon might be our best option. I don't know that we can pull Elam or Ogletree from UF/UGA so IMO Dixon is next best option.

imo Kiffin didn't try as hard to retain Gran because of the long term effect it will have on the Gators..it hurts us up front but better to watch them split talent than play a team full of them.

Youre giving Gran waaaay too much credit. He was not stealing anybody from florida and he still isn't.
