'10 FL ATH Matt Elam

I think what you posted sab was in reference to him winning the county player of the year if I'm not mistaken... at least I think thats what they decided on TOS.

What is it exactly that Florida State is telling these kids to get them to come to the program that isn't what it once was?
From what I've been told FSU and other teams are giving him the option to play rb because he's had such a great year on both sides of the ball. He REALLY likes the idea of being a big time college running back. He spoke about how Gerhart was a D player in highschool and how he could win the heisman. FSU is one of the three schools that he's completed an EE package for and faxes go out next week so this could get interesting in the next few days. Matt is taking his OV to UF this weekend.

So I guess he didn't fill out papers for UT... So UF or FSU I guess... WVU was probably just a visit because of his bud..

FSU,UF and WVU were the three schools. The info was from before thanksgiving so things could have changed but btwn Dec 16-18 everyone will know about EE's and by Dec 21 they have to attend orientation for the college of choice. I know UF is worried because they offered his bud a scholly with only 7-9 spots left so this FSU rumor may not be a rumor. I know that Matt, Luc and Dent are really good friends and FSU has 2 of the 3 so far.

Does UF really want Clarke or are they offering most on Elam... Obviously since he has major D1 offers he's not bad, and he's fast... but would UF take a commitment from him...?

UF mods and insiders say he's a legit target but I'm not buying. He's a 5'8 at best CB/WR=ATH that they are willing to give a scholly to after not offering him early on, who happens to be the best friend of a wavering 5* stud. They'll tell you "he's had a great year and he'll fill the need as a KR/PR." This isn't the NFL you don't offer KR/PR schollies you have players that can fill that need already or coming in. This is about as bad as the 'pups offering the twin after Lane turned up the heat on Alex.

We offered the guy too so we can't say much.... was the reason we offered knowing you might offer him too, and wanting you guys to waste a scholly. Or do we think the guy is legit as well. Obviously we would have heard about him if he was anywhere near the upper part of our board, but I'm just fishing for info. haha.

BIG 10 or BIG (l)east legit not UT, UF, Bama, or LSU legit. IMO Meyer and Lane both want Matt so this scholly was about him. Not knocking the kid but if Matt wasn't his boi those offers would have never happened.

From what I've heard offering Clarke might be a possible Brandon James replacement, but one of the reasons they offered could definitely have been Elam.

Heard MH offered Gran another 100k but he still wanted to go to FSU. I think we valued the connections Gran had but I think Kiffin believes we need an upgrade on special teams.

I would also add that this is mostly an NFL staff used to putting in NFL hours as far as preparation; outworking the competition in every aspect isn't for every coach.

Not sure that means anything in regards to Gran but it could be a factor along with the money increase. A lot of this is my feeling after reading some articles and threads on other sites, I may be completely misinformed.

I think you hit the mark with that....Gran is a great recruiter but I was unimpressed with special teams this year, by far. I expected at least a noticeable improvement and yet, thought we regressed somewhat. I think there was improvement after the Bama game, but the mistakes that were made through the midway point of the season cost us, at the very least, the Bama game.

he did say Tennessee has a chance haha. "so your telling me there is a chance" haha. Seriosly though he's a gator unless something unforseen happens on his official.

I think Elam was already here on an official, wasn't he?

And I've already used the Dumb and Dumber line regarding Elam in this thread haha, sorry.

my bad, didn't feel like looking back through the pages haha. And yes Elam took an official here if that is what you were asking...
