'10 FL ATH Matt Elam

If Urban has a real health issue the Elam family will get the full disclosure within the week. This relationship with Matt and family dates back so Urban will address them fully. Matt is such an emotional kid and he's upset now but once he gets to the UA practice around Clark, Dunkley and other UF commits this thing will work itself out. Those kids aren't going to walk away from the chance of playing for Meyer, they are loyal to a fault. For these kids sake I hope he doesn't F-them over.

I laughed at Utah Fans "Urban Liar" hahahahah. He's so full of it. I want to whoop his ass next year in Knoxville!

From a Florida fans perspective and on the boards what do they think? He's doing this for recrutis? or staying?

I have a sneaking feeling this "indefinite leave" will turn back into a resignation after the recruits have signed their LOI's in February.

He said for the most part UF should be able to retain most of their commits with the exception being Elam. Didnt come out and say he was for sure leaving but he said there were way may questions than answers in regards to him and UF. Once the dead period is over this thing will be wide open IMO.

Only thing these articles really do is show the world that Meyer puts Gator football ahead of everything. Some kids with great homes may look at it differently but for kids that don't have fathers and football maybe a means to provide for their family later, this only helps Meyer case with them. I said before, it's a method to Meyer's maddness and he's again taken the spotlight off everything besides UF football.

LMAO, method to the madness huh? Where have I heard that before? I'm going to call bs and say it was a knee jerk reaction to the recruiting class starting to fall apart so quickly. I seem to remember a bunch of gator trolls saying Kiffin was just over his head and didn't have a plan either, yet you expect us to believe that Meyers about face on his coaching career was a masterfully executed diversion? :eek:lol:

But it also shows that what he tells his real family is one thing and what he tells his team is another. If kids are really looking for a family atmosphere to make up for the one they may not have may see it different. They may look at it terms of possibly their own dads saying its all about my family (the kid here) then turning around and leaving them for something else (the team). It could be viewed as dad walking away again.

Clark and Dunkley arent playing in the game. Elam is playing in the Army-All American Game. Gerald Christian and Ivan Mcartney, who isnt commited, is playing but I dont think that will have a big impact on him he is a smart kid.

My gut tells me this is about his recruiting class for UF and his relationship with Foley. The guy may have had a mild heartattack that they found on the followup test but this guy is gone....he'll come back around the week of the spring game then make another exit midway thru summer practices, to call the shots from behind the booth then resign from coaching into a admin position until he learns the day to day from Foley.

Thanks for the correction...I must have missed read that Matt and Clark are headed down together for UA week.

So your stating that he's doing it for the recruiting class. I get that. But Coach thru fall then resign?

Thats the key to the whole thing, Meyer vs these kids is a no brainer. CM has all the cards in his favor ATP: loyal kids, relationships, media and a pretty good program, add in that once these kids get around others commits that ae headed off to school early, Matt and the other EE's will be in Gainesville by the end of the week. Matt just won a state championship so IMO this kid will not let that feel he has to compete right away sit until summer.

Matt said that he wont be an EE and will be staying in school to play Bball this winter. I think he will be able to see past the lies, and though I dont know if Jimbo is a negative recruiter i've heard on here that Gran is pretty fierce. A lot of things i've read on this situation has been negative, and there will be a lot of coaches playing that up.

I want Urban there. In 2011 when we drill'em I want him to have to walk across the field and see how things to come are gonna be. This brief 10 year reign for Florida is over and the traditional elite of the SEC are about to Return. Can you say Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn and Georgia. Goodbye Les and LSU, see'ya Urban and Florida and Ole' Miss, Really?????

Glory days are about to return..... Go Big Orange....

IMO Meyer was good as gone but he loves football and his ego. The method to his maddness is more about him using the media to spin this is his favor..... not just a Fla/SEC presser but this guy got full ESPN airtime, you just can't put a price on that. Yeah, us adults see the "game' but tell me what 18yr kid has that type of vision?
