I'm hearing that its a FSU and UT battle for his commit, he was leaning towards the barn going into UA week, not sure what changed his mind but Mike Taylor and a few other UT commits were on him hard this week. Having Taylor and Calvin will help but FSU having Gran, who is recruiting him hard make this a close battle.

Corey Miller roomed with him and he has been our best recruiter.

His coach didn't give any other names besides Mike Taylor...his parent's talked to MT over the weekend...they seem to like the young man. Mom's talked about his interview time compared to Dorsey and Joyner. I know this is a thread about Corey but MT is a player and a great kid IMO. Solid pick up by Lane, will be the next Eric Berry for UT(as the face for the program for years to come).

His job is to recruit for FSU. If that means recruiting players there that he once tried to recruit to UT, so be it.

I'm sure you wanted Lance Thompson to recruit Bama's commitments to UT when we hired him last year.

Lance Thomson hadn't been using his last month at Bama to finagle his way to a better job. Eddie on the other hand.....

I am told by someone in the house that the visit went well. He was clear to me last night that he was not going to do anything soon in terms of a decision. A Florida guy told me earlier today that he believes Corey will end up at FSU in the end.

But Corey gave me the impression that he was a ways from a decision to anywhere.

I couldn't imagine being a recruit and this happening:

COACH (CURRENTLY AT UT):

Come to Tennessse! Be a VOL!

Months pass and he gets another gig.

COACH (NOW AT FSU):

Come to Florida State! Be a Seminole! Forget the Vols!

Does that not scream, "I'm trying to use you!"

Some of these guys are already exposed to this side of football. Incoming HS players are being recruited too, and student athletes transfer around HS in similar ways as they do in collegiate sports. They understand these coaches are trying to do the best they can in the job they have, because who doesn't like to get promoted or rewarded for success?

I'm sure a great many coaches care legitimately about the kids they are coaching, but a prospect either has the option to commit to a school or a coach, that's up to them.

What recruit with half a pulse wouldn't like CEO. He's a high motor guy just like him. I lke our chances, plus his boy Smitty will be here too.

That's interesting about Auburn being out. I really thought you could end up there.
