'10 FL DE Corey Lemonier

Eric,

Sarcasm? Joking?

I was told this 2+ months ago, that Lemonier tried to commit but that the numbers didn't make sense because of need elsewhere. We just have too many prospects interested in us and at higher positions of need to take Lemonier at this point. It really sucks, but when people are wanting to come here, what do you do really??

so we would reather have Calvin Smith?

That doesnt make sense...why would we take Calvin Smith and not Corey???

Because Calvin was in a position of higher need. He's going to play on the OL, even though he's projected as a DT, IMO. Don't get me wrong, I think we should take Corey, but there is a reason he isn't already listed on the commit list, and that's because of OL needs and LB.

Why did Monte and Lane visit him last Monday if they turned down his commitment two months ago? I find it hard to believe that you turn down a guy like Lemonier, sorry.

If true, then apparently they think Jac is a DE all the way....no shot at moving to LB.

Yeah, gonna call bs on that one. Isn't Lemonier one of those kids that you make room for?

Not necessarily. You don't throw out an OL if they want to come at this point. I got a feeling that our class is pretty much full if we have any silent commits, and I believe we do.

He isn't coming here because of numbers really. He wanted to commit months ago, but because of all the OL we are in it for, we didn't take it. He's going to be dominate in a year or two wherever he goes, IMO.

Well if that is true that is assinine, I would rather have Lemonier than Pair

Because you continue to recruit those guys in case something happens to the guys they have in a higher position of need. They have made a lot of in home visits, so that really doesn't say too much. They like him though, just have other recruits they want more right now in other positions.

You think we have 6-8 silents?

We have 22 commits. We can only get 5 more into school 2 already being back-counted to last year's class. I believe we probably have 2 silents right now, which leaves room for 3 more to get on campus. As far as the "Sign and Place" guys that everyone seems to be keying in on, I don't think we sign and place anyone because of numbers. I just don't think the coaching staff wants to mess with that because of that 28 rule the SEC has in place. So, we only have 3 more spots, unless they tell people to look elsewhere, and that includes my thought that we have at least 2 silents right now. We will sign the max on campus number of 27 in this class.

I guess, Cullen and Green would be silents? my guess. But I have to say, How could Lemonier NOT want to be with C.Smith and the rest of the Vols? Personally I think the number's crunch is going to stop us from taking him though which is disappointing.

Eric,

by your logic if Kyle Prater visits on Friday and tells Lane I want to commit they would turn him down because he is not a position of need so to speak?

I would take Prater over Lemonier, and I am sure the coaches would too. I'm just letting you know what I believe is the reason Corey isn't here right now.

NO WAY YOU DONT TAKE LEMONIER. im sorry eric, i respect you and and your posts but i just dont see how you would not take a corey lemonier type player.

He would be committed here right now if we had room for him. Turning down a talent like Lemonier for a need position or someone better at a different position is a step in the right direction for this program.
