'10 FL DE Corey Lemonier

He would be committed here right now if we had room for him. Turning down a talent like Lemonier for a need position or someone better at a different position is a step in the right direction for this program.
where did you hear this?

I don't think the staff turned down Lemonier, but took Calvin Smith...no way.

So, if they needed both, like a lot of people seem to think, don't you think he would be committed by now?? Corey's been wanting to commit to a school for months now and can't because of numbers and needs at other positions. Corey and Calvin were a package deal, IMO, but number will probably prevent that from happening. I want Corey, but I want Prater more. Calvin will play at OL too, that's why they took him.

I mean, where are you hearing this?

If Lemonier wanted to commit to Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee...any of those schools would take him in a heartbeat.

how do you know he is that interested in us? and i dont know that its a step in the right direction when he is killing us on saturdays on another team. he is better than any DE committ we have right now

According to Rivals.com recruiting expert Jamie Newberg, Florida State's 2010 class has improved dramatically since new head coach Jimbo Fisher took over the operation from retired Bobby Bowden.

Recruiting classes typically crumble amid head-coaching change. Not in this case says Newberg, who characterized Fisher's efforts as "unbelievable."

Rivals has the Seminoles' class in the top 15, just a month after it ranked in the mid-30s. Newberg went so far as to suggest Fisher might be the "national recruiter of the year."

Should Florida State secure remaining four-star targets OLB Christian Jones, WR Christian Green, DE Corey Lemonier, and CB Terrence Mitchell, Newbery says it's possible Fisher's first recruiting class will rank top-10 overall.

You guys need to understand the numbers game and quit arguing that we just take him. We have more deficiencies at other positions on the team, than we do at DE right now with our current roster and commit list. This isn't the NFL draft where you take the best player available, IMO. Coach O has the last say on DL commits, IMO. So that should tell you what he thinks about our DL roster/commits.

He's also going to play for FSU, so he won't be killing us on Saturday's.

dude, I understand the numbers game...

I am asking where you heard that Lemonier tried to commit here and we turned him down?

Why would waste our time making in-home visits with him if we didn't have a spot for him? Please don't tell me Lemonier is our fall back option...

Couple of different people months ago.

I'm not sure how to feel - turning down great talent means you're hot hot hot on the trail and a sign of really good things to come.

But damn, why does it have to be a freak like Lemonier?

Dear lord, are we seriously talking about turning him down? there's no way we turn him away IMO, some people were talking about him as possibly a top 2-3 player in the entire state!

i think they would take him and dump ralph williams, isn't john brown counted in that 22 you speak of? Why has everybody been saying they are looking for another DE? Stripling comes to mind. I think they would take him. I don't really know if Calvin Smith is already destined to be an OL either. Especially with the possibility of Cullen, Green, James, Fulton and Pair as our supposed OL class. That would be 6 OL. Are you saying Smith projects to be a better OL than all these other potential targets that are loving the Vols right now? I get the numbers crunch but I don't see Lemonier falling into that category. Most DE's in high school have DT potential. Maybe Im wrong, but maybe you are wrong too.

I would say there is about 0 chance that we would turn down Lemonier...

this is JMO

Gents, IMO we have two excellent DE's in Miller and Delvin Jones. Yeah I said it, Jones will be a DE for us and I think J. Smith moves to LB. This just makes since with the numbers game and with Stocker, Bartholomew, the transfer from Miami, and possibly getting Warren back in the mix, we're set for TE this year.

Look for the staff to get in on a high end JUCO TE next year.

This is all JMO, take it with a grain of salt, but it makes complete sense if you look at the numbers.

B Warren is coming back! I would really be happy about that. Wilson did not command his respect. Now that we know that Wilson is a liar who was using his time to build relationships he snaked to LSU, maybe B Warren was not the problem
