no on Coleman, Copeland, and Baxter. Maybe a no on Robinson. Of course our class would have been better had Kiffin stayed.

Copeland would have been a Vol for sure, and LV and others were told Coleman was a Vol silent. Baxter was not coming here. Robinson would have crawled to Knoxville under the previous staff.

Why is everyone so obsessed over this? Who cares what the class would have looked like. We have what we have and we're damn sure lucky to have that.

What could have possibly happened is absolutely, 100%, completely irrelevant to anything whatsoever.

But Sab, didn't you hear, Kiffin signed the imaginary #3 class in the nation here at UT. :eek:hmy:

Copeland was going to LSU the entire time. He wasn't fond of the last staff. Coleman may have been and i'll give you Robinson. But i'll take Stone over Robinson.

Disagree about Copeland. Had O stayed he never would’ve gone to LSU. Miles invited him to visit the week after CLK left. He was very torn all the way up to NSD even after he silently committed to LSU. He ultimately chose LSU because he felt more comfortable there, which wouldn’t have been the case had O stayed.

Would you take Stone over Coleman Robinson and Green? I think not.

We could have had Robinson. Dooley never re-offered him. Green edges out Stone, but just barely. Stone is as good of a guard prospect as Stone is a tackle one. It's a wash at best. Jawuan James filled most of our tackle needs by himself.

See now I'm perpetuating it.

Disagree totally with this. There's no way you could predict Copelands moves at that time leading up until Signing Day. Many change. Michael Taylor was gone to Florida before the news of Kiffin.

Coach O also called him the night before NSD to push for USC. I'll bet you he said negative things about UT in the conversation, which swayed Copeland to LSU.

And now we're desperate for DT's, when Louisiana seems to grow them on trees.

O and CLK did us bad wrong in many ways.

yea, he woulda been. so would have Copeland. he loved O.

i know a '10 signee was told by Coleman in January that he a Vol silent but I don't know if we would have gotten him when it came time to sign. i doubt it.

They definitely re-offered Robinson. Dooley and Chaney had an in-home with him and tried everything they could to get him up on an official but it came that snow that last weekend and Robinson couldn't make it.

We saw the difference between Green and Stone in the UA game.

I don't see O losing him. O found him when nobody else wanted him and had been on him hard all year.

One thing that really hurt us with him, was when he came back on his official visit in January, Dooley didn't speak to him cuz he was trying to get that NCAA thing that would allow him to get more official visits since there was a coaching change.

If you are talking about Copeland, Brent said many times that if LSU offers, we are done. They offered, he bolted, and I believe he would have if O were still here. Too much instate pressure to stay home if that happened.

LSU hired a new staff and stole him away?

Janzen was committed to us since his visit in December and told the LSU staff that he was staying with them. Copeland committed to LSU after his official and told our staff he was staying with us.
