Miami Northwestern OL Torrian Wilson claims an offer from UT.

When you look at the kid he's got a very odd looking body, at 6'4" 300ish pounds. But he does move his feet well and does a great job. Really good run blocker and does a decent job pass protecting from his LT spot.

In the state championship he neutralized Miami Hurricane signee Dyron Dye.

I responded to Torrian text on the UT offer with his thoughts on the program. Here is what he texted back:

I like them. I know they were a running team last year so I like that. I am going to try to visit sometime in my senior year.

Also he said he measured in at 6'4" 298 at the National Underclassmen Combine this weekend.

If he can stop Dyron Dye, I'd take him in a heartbeat. Lets start pulling these kids out of Florida, they're even more stacked than usual this year.

Thanks fro the info man.

It'd be huge if we can steal a few guys from the backyard of the U. But I really can't recall a Northwestern kid who U wants ends up somewhere else

I agree with you 100%. But I never thought someone UF or FSU wanted from the Muck (Pahokee, Belle Glade) would head out of state until about a week before this past NSD...

The fact he's talking about a visit is at least a glimmer of a chance to get him, and sometimes that's all that is needed.

Wilson, is a very good OL who played at a small private school (Plantation American Heritage) as a freshman and sophomore. Wilson is very quick for his size and will get stronger when he attends college. Wilson, was American Heritage best OL as a sophomore when he played along side UM recruit Jared Wheeler.

expect Torrian to visit Knoxville on an official visit. He had good things to say about the commitment of Bryce Brown and the tradition of the program.

He also said he enjoys the physical part of the game and playing aggressively.

"I feel that I bring that nasty attitude," Wilson said. "I feel that when I'm on the field, I'm a good run blocker, but I can pass block too. I'm just a better run-blocker."

I think this is the type of player our coaches will go after hard. I hope we land this beast. Thanks for the post Jack.

"I was very excited when they offered me," Wilson said. "I knew Tennessee is a big school, a school that likes to run the football. It excited me when they offered."

"Yes, that does catch my attention. Bryce Brown is good back, one of best backs in nation," Wilson said. "I think he will be a top back at Tennessee, and I think they are going to have a good backfield."

Sweeeeeeeeet! we need some big uglies.

Big, ugly and NASTY.. Conrad Dobler type.. Anyone remember him? IMO the best OLinemen have a mean streak in them. You about have to with big, atheletic DLinemen teeing off on you every play.

“The schools she wants me to visit right now, she really wants me to visit Stanford, so Stanford will be a visit,” said Wilson. “Tennessee will be a visit, Michigan will be a visit, and I haven’t decided the other two.”

I already took unofficial visit there, I took it on Friday,” explained Wilson. “I’m really excited about The U again. I know I kind of fell off with The U, but they’re back up there right now.”

Interesting to see Miami slip a bit, so what did the Hurricanes fall out of favor with the Northwestern Bull?

“The only reason why they really fell off was because I kind of wanted to leave Miami. They really have been showing a lot of interest and a lot of love for me.”
