"It does (make a difference)," Wilson said. "I want to go to a school that mostly run blocks. Every school passes, but I want to go to a school where it is run block, run block, run block."

"Miami was kind of my favorite school growing up, but actually Michigan was my favorite school. That was the school I wanted to go to growing up," he said. ""Miami, that is the home town. I liked the campus. I get to see it all the time. It was really anything major, but I get to see it anytime I want. UCF and MIchigan, not being from those places, it was beautiful. the UCF academic building was beautiful. Michigan was just out of control visiting the Big House and just the town and school period. It was a whole different atmosphere."

"I have a top five," he said. "It's Michigan, Stanford, Tennessee, Alabama and UCLA. It's not in that order but that's my top five."

Per Rivals... Bama just offered him. He appears to really want to get out of the state of Florida...

Per tharinger:

Miami(FL) OL Torrain Wilson has named a top 5 of Tennessee, Alabama, Stanford, Michigan, and UCLA. Wilson has stated recently that Michigan is his leader. The fact that Miami isn't in the top 5 is puzzling. I know there is somewhat of a feeling that Northwestern prospects aren't being recruited hard enough by the Hurricanes, but normally out of courtesy for the offer they still mention the Canes. I still think he ends up in Coral Gables, but on the heels of other goings on at Northwestern this isn't good news for Cane fans.

new gvx article...

Wilson, a 6-foot-4, 315-pound offensive lineman from Northwestern High in Miami, is looking for a school that has an opportunity for early playing time.

"That's very important," Wilson said. "I want to go somewhere I know I'm going to start as a freshman or have a good chance of starting as a freshman."
Wilson realized as much while studying the Vols' depth chart with running backs coach Gran, who is recruiting Wilson.

"He showed me the offensive line and showed me the new players they got this year," Wilson said. "That's really looking good on my part."

The Vols are looking good in the battle to land Wilson. He said his top five schools are UT, Alabama, Miami, Michigan and Stanford. All five school have offered Wilson a scholarship.

from espn... no longer in his top 5.

ESPNU 150 Watch List offensive guard Torrian Wilson has made a change is his top five, affiliate Web site CrimsonConfidential.com reports.

Miami-FL, Alabama, Michigan and Stanford remain in the group, but Wilson has removed Tennessee and now includes Florida International.

"It was just the whole atmosphere at FIU," Wilson said after a visit to campus. "It's been changing a lot and it's growing as a program. I like the new facilities, and I like the education part of it, too."
